We visited here as a family one evening, we hadn't booked but they found us a table as the restaurant was quite empty. The service was excellent with very polite ladies serving to the tables and 2 gentlemen serving at the bar. The main course all tasted very fresh with good sized portions. We tried the Sundaes for desert which were ok but nothing special. Would certainly visit again if in the area.

After looking to buy a lodge at church farm in january. We were recommended the bear. We were not disappointed. Lovely welcoming staff excellent food
We went back few weeks later bought our lodge and was back in the bear.
We have eaten in 5 star restaurants in london and not had food as good as we have had in the bear.
We regulary go to the bear and always recommend the bear to other people.
We wont eat anywhere else in pagham !!!!

Went for Sunday lunch with the family.

Food was wholesome and good. Plentiful and quality. Roast beef was very well cooked, as were the vegetables. Steak pie and macaroni cheese equally well received!

Staff very friendly and accommodating.

A very good option for anyone staying in Pagham.

I paid for friends to stay at this B&B for two nights over the weekend. NEVER again.
- There was live music both nights which we were not informed about.
- They were offered 1/2 hour to have breakfast (9-9.30). If they wanted something earlier they were told they could have a tuna sandwich!!
- When I phoned to ask the manager if this was usual for their breakfast arrangements. He told me that they are primarily a pub so not really set up for B&B. When I said you are either a B&B or you are not, he said "have you phoned up to be arsey!" I could not believe my ears. I asked him for a refund of the cost of breakfast. He said 'no chance' and hung up!
I am shocked at the rudeness of this man. Avoid.

We went here twice the second time as the food was so good on the first. We weren't disappointed. There is an extensive menu. Belly pork with black pudding and an exquisite potato stack and veg was mine. Kids menu was ok and one of them had some amazing fish and chips. Veggie options are ok. Desserts were amazing ice creams which were huge. Beer was lovely a good real ale and a nice wine list but being a driver one pint was the limit. There is a great beer garden, nice little games bar and the entertainment was good. It has to be said we also had a really friendly welcome too which some of the other pubs just didn't.
