The most annoying thing about this Easter vacation was two weeks of almost daily rain... I tried to blame the owner but he wasn't having it! :) I forgive you Martin, we had a blast anyway! I've been to Bognor before at Easter and the weather was great, so it's pot luck on that! The owner met us at the property, showed us around and gave us the lowdown on everything from the appliances to the heating.
We had an advance special request that all the linens and towels be washed without dyes or perfumes due to allergies and the owner immediately responded to this request and took care of it for us, THANK YOU!
All in all, a lovely house, well appointed, spectacular views, lots of mod cons, in a beautiful setting. The house is located on a very quiet private estate accessed by private road and was just a joy to live in. It exceeded our expectations in almost every way and leaving was VERY tough.
The master bedroom is en suite with tub and shower, the second bedroom also has a queen and shares a bathroom with a 2 single bed, third bedroom, which means plenty of room for the average family. As a former Aldwick resident I can imagine the summer lets must be absolutely awesome... I fished off this beach in the 1960's as a kid and it's as beautiful now as it was back then.
It's an easy walk into the town center of Bognor Regis, we did it daily. Shopping is nearby with a Tesco express around the corner, a Morrison's supermarket in town and Sainsbury's plus Tesco have large stores within 5 minute's drive.
You will absolutely NOT go wrong renting this house any time of the year!
A quick caution, NOTHING to do with the property!! Be careful exiting the private road (Aldwick Ave) at the junction with Fish Lane. Traffic to the right is hidden for a full 3 seconds and if you pull out without waiting and watching carefully, you may get the front of your vehicle removed. The homeowners Association should lobby to get a mirror put up on the lamp post opposite the road's exit to make things safer. Maybe the owner could write to them, although maybe they've tried and failed, just be aware and careful!
Could the property be improved... The only thing that I can think of right now is the master bedroom is big enough for a king size bed and that would put it over the top for me! :)
I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to get away from it all and enjoy a quiet time, as well as families wanting to enjoy peaceful days right on the beach. Certainly, you can't get any closer to the Ocean without renting a house boat! I knew the area well, I'm SO glad I found this property on TripAdvisor.
A comfortable house for relaxed living. Martin and Carol each very easy to deal with. Family enjoyed the location. Good sea views, including sunsets. This house fulfilled all our needs for a great family break.
Enjoyed a fabulous five day break at Aldwick Avenue the only thing we wish we could have improved is the weather! The property is very clean and inviting - we felt at home straight away and fully enjoyed the view out to sea and the ability to just walk down the garden straight onto the beach. Excellent facilities, kitchen wonderfully equipped and hard to improve. Excellent base for Chichester, Arundel and the Downs. Can't fault, we will be back.
This location worked well for us, close enough to facilities and town. The house was ideal, lots of space, modern decor, large tv. Very impressive garden and perfectly situated on the channel. Actually very comfortable chairs, sofa and beds.
Martin answered all questions and eased our entry.
Being right on the beach was marvellous. The sound of the waves crashing, the fresh air, beach walks whenever you want and the constant mesmerising view. And being along a private stretch of road meant the beach was fairly empty. The house is very comfortable. Several levels and various rooms meant space for us all. Even a study for my Son to play Minecraft. We will be back.
