Have visited this restaurant off and on over many years. Has been 2 1/2 years since the last visit which should have told me something but a family member wanted to go. Never again. Firstly, a largely empty restaurant is never a good sign. Somewhat lacking in staff as well as customers. Had booked ( don't ask why I bothered!) but waited a while on arrival until noticed by a young lad who told us our table was " over there in the window". Not exactly shown to our table! After some waiting, he came to take a drink order. Then a long wait to order food while the lad stood at the bar gazing into space. Kept trying to catch his eye to no avail. Eventually a lady came from the kitchen ( the only other person we saw, briefly.....maybe she was doing all the cooking too) and she took our order. Took ages to arrive and we only ordered one chicken satay ( cold) two portions of spring rolls ( big ones Ok, small ones....the only vegetarian ones.....tiny, dry and expensive ) and some prawn crackers. Then had to wave manically to attract the attention of the waiter standing daydreaming in order to ask for some soy sauce.

After a considerable wait, the waiter brought our plates ready for the main courses. The plates were vaguely warm, but by the time the food finally arrived, they were stone cold. As the food was tepid too, we found ourselves bolting the food to eat it still warmish. Two of us had the chicken chow Mein and, after yet more trouble catching an eye, sent both half eaten dishes back to be warmed up.....they were returned plonked together on one plate! The Chow Mein itself was very bland too. More like a side dish than a main, with very little finely shredded chicken in it.

Special Noodles were anything but special. Edible but uninspired and they were cold too. As for the aromatic duck, it was awful. I know in the past they used to bring it out and shred it in front of you. Not any more. It seemed to have been shredded and kept warm for so long that some bits were so dry they crumbled into powder.

Suffice to say, we will not be going back.

its alright I suppose in the way that many small town Chinese restaurants provide a filling meal at a surprisingly cheap price. My Mother likes it but its not clear why. Probably as it's close and she has been there several times so it's familiar which counts as the years go by. Me - i'd be happy never to go back, but if when visiting her, Mother says "lets go", I'll follow along. It's OK.

The service in this restaurant was very good - polite and helpful. But the food was not enjoyable. The chicken and lamb were very chewy, the rice was a delicate shade of grey and the crispy duck lacked flavour.

We regularly eat here although we mainly get take always rather than eat in. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get good Chinese food out of the main big cities but this restaurant does not disappoint. We got a take away yesterday whilst staying in Bognor and they delivered and the food was excellent.

After reading other reviews we were expecting a decent meal, nothing could be further from what we had the misfortune to experience. On a Saturday night at just after eight a 3/4 empty restaurant should have told us something, the waitress who was disappointed to see another customer to keep her in her job managed to show us to a table, returning with menus and a mono syllabic `drinks?` , after standing around with her lazy disinterested colleague for a while she asked another waitress to bring our drinks. After staring into space for an inordinate amount of time ignoring my gestures for service she eventually took our food order.
Crispy duck to start barely achieved average standard, pre shredded into dust with a couple of accompanying dry bones I assume to confirm the meats authentic origin, and a charming plastic flower on the side (in place of the ones skilfully carved from veg in decent restaurants), again a painfully long wait for the table to be cleared when the waiter noticed whilst wandering aimlessly around.
Main course - sizzling beef in satay sauce (£8.50!) tasteless but not objectionable compared to - sweet & sour chicken Hong Kong style (6.50) almost inedible due to being so hard, egg fried rice - bland & tepid, Singapore noodles - bland, boring & full of cheap little prawns. It was a meal we`d rather have avoided.
The waiting staff couldn't be bothered to ask how the food was (they probably knew) and when the table was being cleared I told the waitress our glasses had been empty since the starter her indifferent response was `oh`. Seriously - `oh`.
What a dump. Dated distasteful decor, a broken fan displayed on the wall repaired with half a roll of sellotape, the whole place is a cringey 90s throw back run by people who would most definitely prefer to be somewhere else. AVOID!!
