We visited Bognor for the 4th time ova the last weekend of half term & had a lovely time as usual.

We stayed in the wave hotel which I cannot fault. We were able to check in early & the hotel is spotless. Lovely spacious, bright rooms. My 7 yr old son enjoyed the games room & the bar/cafe is very nice. We had breakfast in the Deck which was good, we didn't have to queue at all.

Shows were fantastic as usual, 1 yr old loved Thomas & Mike the Knight, 7 yr old loved the wrestling.

We went bowling twice, didn't have to book. Reasonably priced. We also hired a fun family bike, which we didn't need to book.

We went to splash water world twice, it was busy on Saturday afternoon, but we had hotel exclusive swimming Sunday morning which was better. We were slightly disappointed with splash as it seemed colder than usual, especially the changing rooms.

We ate at papa johns & the beach comber, we enjoyed both. Average prices & good service.

My only real criticism of butlins is how tricky it is to get a seat for evening shows. There's just too many people (although it's better now Reds is open as well). We had to queue 45 mins before doors opened to get a seat for wrestling. It's a real shame. If you particularly want to see the shows it's probably worth getting B Line passes.

Overall we had a lovely weekend.

I visited this resort Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd for a weekend break. It was an ok experience however there were some major pitfalls.

Firstly on arrival I went to put the kettle on and there was only wires no switch. This is a health hazard to adults and children, also showing that the rooms and facilities are not checked. The tea tray itself was filthy along with the tv and shower being disgusting.

We complained about the kettle and it was replaced.

Bowling and pool facilities need some tlc and so do the staff! The staff are often no where to be seen, glasses everywhere and long queue for bowling or pool. The bowling facilities were often fully booked until later that day. When we arrived for our booking we were turned away as we had only been booked in for one game which was NOT what we wanted! We played pool instead which was ok however we could see the free bowling lanes that were not being used...hummmm. Ruined the break as we waited a whole day for a bowling game we were not ale to play!

The staff in this area are unmotivated and RUDE if they sucked on lemons they would look happier!

The food was average nothing good nor bad to say.

Accommodation was tiny and provided no privacy. The curtains need to be closed at all times otherwise people can see in as they walk directly past your window on metal flooring which shakes the room! Don't expect any sleep either as there is no privacy for your neighbours with the thin shaky walls!

The shows were ok but clashed often so when one finished the other one also ended which left you waiting around for ages just to Stand and watch from afar anyway.

The seats in the REDs could be newer or at least cleaner.

Swimming was ok. The blue flume was not working, which was a downer. The pool staff were visible and grumpy. They did not want to be there. When asked a question "can I go down head first" (down a slide) one lifeguard replied "well no if you do and hit your head you can get knocked unconscious and die" - over reaction and rude answer!

The toilets in the swimming area were actually the most disgusting toilets i have ever seen. The obvious pee on the floor was awful coupled with the smell of piss...not nice at all!!!

All over the resort the toilet facilities are often smelly and dirty. I did see people cleaning them but not enough as they were either blocked, no loo roll, wet floors or soaking wet sides.

I most likely won't return and would say to people that it's a good place for children but adults and children beware of the unattentive bowling area staff that obviously hate their job.

Came here Feb half term. The main ride in swimming pool, closed, dodgems, closed, one of the main arcades, closed. Everything closes at 6pm except Saturdays. Rick and Dom were excellent, wrestling o.k other shows very average. There is football, crafts and some fencing but quite alot u have to pay £5
extra. We stayed at the wave hotel. Rooms nice. The kids loved the games room. All showers, in room and swimming pool were terrible. Most in swimming pool not working or had very little water coming out of them and the changing areas smelt terrible and were very messy. Most toilets in complex were smelly and unclean. I have been coming here for years and feel very disappointed this time.

Just got back from a weekend at staying in the Oyster Bay standard accomodation. We were a bit worried when we saw the outside of the block, but were very happy inside the apartment. It's exactly what is is - standard. Inside was clean and we had exactly what we needed - beds for four, bathroom, TV, kitchenette.
We could have paid £30 extra for the next step up accomodation, but we would only really have benefitted from a show rather than a bath. We'd rather have a meal out for the money!
We spent most of our time out and about around the park. Swimming early before it got busy, watching the fantastic professional entertainment and using the free fairground rides,
The price for the weekend was good to start with, but considering we got three live shows made it even more value for money. I dread to think how much the fairground rides would have cost us if we had to pay for them - the kids had at least 30 rides over the 3 days we were there!
Just watch out for people riding four seater bikes around busy pedestrian areas - not a good idea!
As with others, we have previously been to Centre Parcs, but now with kids in school have been priced out of the market. Having now been to Butlins, there is much more to do for 5 year old kids anyway so we will definitely be going back.
The staff deserve a mention too. Eeveryone - Red Coats, restaurant staff, accomodation staff, retail staff and guest services - were all helpful and all seemed to really enjoy doing their jobs and had an interest in the customers. A lot of other places would benefit from staff like this. Whether it was just a smile and nice comment when buying something or having a Red Coat come and talk to the children when we were waiting in a queue, it all adds up and gives you a nicer time.

Facilities are quite good, kids enjoyed a lot. Swimming pool was fantastic. Kids enjoyed all the activities and evening shows. Only downfall was apartments, they are quite outdated. Apart from that everything fine.
