We booked Butlins for a break with the kids & decided to try the Wave hotel. We took my 8.5 year old & our grandson of 2.5 yrs.

On arrival parking was a big issue as the car park was already full! There is definitely not enough space to accommodate all hotel guests, we unloaded the car, checked in which was swift & friendly, then we had to move & park the car over the other side of Butlins, there was some one waiting there who took you back to the hotel on a buggy. However on leaving there was no sign of anyone helping people to go and collect their cars!

Our room had a kingsize bed and a separate room with bunk beds for the kids, which was great. As advertised there are televisions with dvd players on each bunk bed, however there were No ear phones as stated, we asked for some at reception & they didn't have any! So my eldest son wasn't able to watch a DVD when we retired to the room in the evening as our youngest was only 2.5 and needed to go to sleep. This was very disappointing for him and if we had known we could of taken our own!

The rooms were well equipped though not the cleanest, we had tea & coffee making facilities & a fridge which was very handy all tucked away in a cupboard which was great idea so little fingers weren't tempted to touch, we had plenty of wardrobe space & a safe which is a good idea, table & chairs.
The bathroom was a good size with a bath & a shower over the bath, when the shower turned on it had flashing lights.... Kids loved that!!

We had our meals in the Deck, great restaurant, lovely very helpful & friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. Hardly queued always went in swiftly & the food was very good, plenty of choice & good quality. Never rushed out, it was a pleasant relaxing experience. It is a few minute walk from the hotel but this wasn't an issue for us.

Centre stage was more of an issue to us to get a seat, unless you are there in the queue by 5 you have no chance!! To be honest Butlins have improved with hotels etc so much and got sooo big, that there is not enough entertainment space for guests in centre stage, it's ridiculously full up.. There are other things going on in other parts but that's not helpful when you want to see the shows. I don't know the answer to that!!
The swimming pool was also very busy, it was worse when it rain which is understandable, kids had a great time there too. So did we!!

They have fantastic rides for all ages in the fairgrounds, inside & out some carried a small charge, which was fine. The outside area has improved lots & there was plenty to do. Inside there are lots of slot 2p & 10p machines too which is great for older kids but be prepared to take spending money!!
The hire shop was handy we got a pushchair as we couldn't get ours in the car. But get there sharp as they only had a couple left wen we got there, its popular as Very good value not expensive at all & again friendly, helpful staff. We hired a go kart too which was good fun.

Our overall stay was brilliant we had a lovely time, we will definitely be returning, we couldn't fault it as a fabulous place to take your family. The staff everywhere were 100% brilliant. When we booked we had special offer discounts which was great & got up graded for a really good price 2 weeks before our stay to the hotel, would I want to pay full price? Possibly not!! But what we paid was good value. Thank you Butlins we will be back :-)

Room Tip: If you want to hire a pushchair get there early! It's good value just £3 a day :-)

This is a copy of my review which I placed on Butlins Trip review page before Wave Hotel added

After staying at the other 2 hotels at Butlins Bognor Regis we were looking forward to trying the new hotel. We were disappointed at first to find out that the Seahorse room we booked actually faced Hotham Park and the rear car park whereas on Butlins website it states we would face the resort!
But after a while we didn't mind the view on a midweek break in April compared to August.
We decided to have the Premium dining package for the hotel as it cuts down oaying for meals in advance rather tgen using spending money. But b in the Wave we had to leave the hotel and walk to the new Deck restaurant to eat at breakfast and evening meal. Our first impressions of the Deck was that it was a glorified dining hall that has better decor and after staying and eating in the other hotels with their restaurants on site it seemed a key down. BUT after eating in there over the following days we really enjoyed it for the following reasons
1.as it was so big there were hardly any
long queues and we often keep the same
table for 6.
2. The food choice and quality of food was
excellent
3. We felt comfortable enough to actually
take our time to eat and relax - so much
so we were in there one night for 2 hours
because there was no pressure by staff to
clean or prepare new tables because it
was so big.
In the bedrooms the wardrobes had doors and they had more hanging space for clothes compared to the other hotels even for our daughter in her room (that had its own door for a change.
Also the hotel has its own parking area for hotel guests like the others.
Overall we had a great time and would stay in the hotel again but not in August as we like the Ocean view from the balcony on a summers morning sitting outside viewing the funfair and lake

Room Tip: Be careful - Seahorse rooms are at rear of Hotel facing Hotham Park and car park NOT facing resort

went to butlins wave hotel in bognor 22/03-25/03 2013,quite nice hotel rooms pleasant although we requested sea view actually had a view of the car park, room was like a sauna, tried to turn c/h down but would not go below 17 eventually had to switch it off,the food in the restaurant allocated the dolphin i think it was called was not very good the breakfast was okay but evening meals were dire never managed to eat a full meal all weekend,we also paid for premier dining,i.e no queing, met at entrance shown to your table and drinks order taken that happened the first night after that we were told to find a table and no table service was provided, the 60's shows were excellent apart from shivering outside waiting to go in as they wouldn't open the doors until 7 pm on the dot all in all not bad value apart from the evening meal

If you suffer from Coeliac spru inform the chef on your first visit to the Coral restaurant. You will then be given a gluten-free menu from which you can choose from six main courses and six desserts. Staff very helpful when informed of Coeliac illness.Wave Hotel very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view on booking
