We went to the hotel for afternoon tea and I have to say it was the worse afternoon tea we have ever had. It was difficult to get any one to serve us as we were ignored. and then had to pay £29.00 for a pot of tea for two and 2 pieces of dried cake which looked like they had come from the local supermarket. We did complain to the receptionist who was not really interested.

My partner and I celebrated a birthday at Baiiffscourt this weekend and wish that every birthday could be spent there. We were welcomed by extremely friendly staff, taken to the most delightful room I have ever stayed in,sat in comfortable chairs by a log fire to choose from a wonderful dinner menu explained by a most helpful young lady, eat delicious food in a gorgeous restaurant with perfect service throughout. The breakfast was equally good. The spa pool meant that we could enjoy another dinner without feeling too guilty and the hot tub finished a perfect weekend with a walk in the beautiful grounds watched by the resident peacocks. Wow!

All the staff and service in general seemed very good during our stay - professional and friendly without being obsequious. The place is interesting in that it is a group of buildings, some of which connect to the main house via tunnels.
We were a little disappointed that fires were not lit in the all the 'sitting rooms' in the main house - we would have liked to rest after dinner but it was too cold for us.
We stayed in 'Rigates' in the Thatch House - room was generally comfortable, bathroom OK but might have benefited form a different layout. We felt the room should have had just 2 chairs and a better wardrobe - there were no drawers to put clothes in.
We only used the pool(s) in the spa - the indoor one was a tad cool and the outside one cooler - both OK for up down exercising (but then this is down to personal taste). The sauna, steam room and hot tubs all seemed great to me!
The food in the restaurant was overly presented and I felt the chef was trying to be clever - my taste is for more wholesome food - however it was tasty and filling enough. The breakfasts were good.
All in all 8/10

The hotel looks amazing and the staff make you feel amazing. We stayed there for a 3 day break and I cannot fault anything. Food was delicious, the spa is fun and relaxing (waterbeds are used for the massages!), the rooms are lovely - I would definitely go back and recomend it to any couples. One more good points they positively welcome dogs, and there is a great beach for a bracing walk to digest all that good food!

We stayed at the baliffscourt for 2 nights over new year and what a most fantastic hotel it was. We took our Yorkie with us who was made extremely welcome by everybody, the staff even provided him with a bowl mat and chew!
The new years eve meal was absolutely superb, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, the whole hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, my only regret is that I did not try the spa!!
