I absolutely loved the stay. The staff were SO professional, helpful and friendly, the little details were so thoughtful, food was divine, so kind when we asked to change rooms, I just loved every minute of it, felt well and truly pampered. I'd like to give a special shout out to someone special - but EVERYONE was special. Thank you!!

This hotel is amazing. Was like walking into a dream. My husband and I stayed for 1 night.
We arrived and was checked in and taken up to our room which was stunning.
The room was spacious and had a large fireplace where we could light our own fire to enjoy.
We explored the hotel and grounds, the lounges are cosy and inviting and a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine and a book.
The spa is lovely, we enjoyed going for an outside swim and jacuzzi in the evening and again in the morning. We both had treatments which were so relaxing.
We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was of a very high standard.
The staff were all very pleasant and attentive.
Overall this hotel just has a wonderful feel and unique history. Would absolutely recommend and return.

Never disappoints. Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful atmosphere. Fabulous spa- we had the best massages we’d experienced for some time. Food incredible. We had a room rate inclusive of dinner. Usually you get a pared back menu in that scenario.. not here, full menu which is wonderful. The whole visit left us feeling relaxed and happy. Can’t recommend it enough.

We stayed here as part of my wife’s birthday celebrations. The hotel staff all remembered that it was her birthday which was great and a bottle of champagne and card was in our room. Complimentary glass at dinner was a nice touch. It’s hard to believe this hotel was built in 1927. It definitely looks to be 100’s of years older the ambience of the place is amazing. We had a room with a vaulted ceiling, roll top bath, four poster bed and an open fire place. Definitely worth the extra money. The weather was atrocious on the Saturday. Tried to walk the grounds but we ended up absolutely soaked. The open fire was a great option on our return although trying to get matches off the staff to light it was impossible….they clearly didn’t want us to use it….i had a lighter in my car, so all was fine. It was really nice. We also used the spa on both days and had a treatment. Food was really good, venison wellington was my favourite and breakfast the next day was just as delicious. It’s not cheap to stay here, but as a celebration weekend it was worth the money. When we return, it will definitely be when the sun is shining though.

I have been a few times over the years for Spa Breaks. Whilst we had a lovely time and the treatments were excellent this time, the facilities themselves are tired and in need of maintenance. Jacuzzi pool outside missing many mosaic tiles and had a hole in the bottom which was very sharp. Whilst sitting in the Jacuzzi all you can see is dust & dirty tissues at eye level on the ground. Changing rooms were mouldy and grimy. Lunch was lovely, staff friendly. Just such a shame the Spa is lacking basic maintenance and needs a good deep clean

A wonderful escape. Very beautiful and comfortable place to stay. Spa is delightful especially the out door poor and hot tub. The food is delicious with a good choice of dishes. The grounds are lovely to walk around.
