Honestly the best pub I've been in in Sussex! We only stayed for a drink, but the bar tenders were so nice and down to earth, what's more it's certainly a well known place as it was full of locals giving the place a lovely atmosphere.

Rural location, charming traditional building, exactly what one anticipates from an Olde English country pub. Gardens front and back, open aspect, well kept seating areas. Restaurant service informal but enthusiastic and caring. Seating suitable for a romantic twosome or more extensive group, great atmosphere. Menu with plenty of variety and interest to ensure it was a cut above - we dodged the frogs legs and went for the swordfish - fish was superb, both in itself and its accompaniments. Wine, pudding and coffee all of the same high standard. Over all very good value for money and will definitely return!

This pub is in quite a nice quiet location but the food is so expensive. We ordered Camembert with toasted focaccia (£7.50) and fishcakes (£9.50). The food was ok, nothing special, but the portions were way too small, we both felt hungry afterwards.

The service wasn't great either, I expected a lot more for the prices they were charging.
