Nymans Gardens at Handcross in Sussex are a National Trust property. The grounds include lots of rhododendrons and azaleas, which were in full flower when we visited. The woodland walks also had lots of bluebells in flower. The old house is now a ruin, but worth a look. We also had a nice lunch in the Pavilion Cafe.

We visited at the end of April and the house wasn't quite ready for visits. We had a conducted tour with a knowledgeable guide who seemed a little bit fazed by the fact that the house wasn't completely ready. Interesting history to the house. Gardens lovely but better to visit a little bit matter in the season, possibly in another month

Today I went to Nymans and today the gardens were nice but appeared not to be in full bloom. So a visit later on May effect my review. The place was nice and relaxing. Dog access is only allowed in the forest part of nymans and not the main grounds which as a future dog owner could effect me going there. But overall a nice place to go and chill. Cannot comment on catering as I never eat there. Would I go there again. Maybe?.

This is one of the National Trust's prized properties and quite rightly so!
With a huge mansion half destroyed by a fire and romantic gardens set across hundreds of acres, there is always something to do here.
For keen walkers there are also extensive walks into nearby forest, passing lakes and brooks on the way. No where else in the area can you walk for miles without seeing a single person.

A beautiful place whether you visit for the colourful formal gardens and lawns, the mansion or the wider estate.
