What a wonderful place to walk around and relax. The gardens are particularly pretty this summer. The rose garden is full of perfume and the borders are glorious.

Having visited I can quite see why this is one of the National Trusts most popular gardens. There is an amazing collection of unusual trees and plants. I would encourage anyone visiting to take the introductory talk by the volunteer Garden Ranger. Janette was a mine of information and was happy to look up plant names for visitors. Another volunteer gave an introductory talk about the house and the family who lived there.

Sadly part of the house was destroyed by fire in the 1940s and only part of it is currently accessible but the National Trust are stabilising the walls of the damaged part and hope to be able to open this part to visitors in the future.

There is a shop selling plants some of which are taken from plants actually growing at Nymans and propagated at the on site nursery some are quite expensive but are sold in support of a very good cause.

Very popular with young families who often bring a picnic and just laze in the sun on one of many lawns! However we prefer to visit 'The Victory Inn' located on the village green at Staplefield,......just down the road from Nyman's.This, in itself, is always a sheer delight-- an unpretentious village pub,But Wow! Just sample the home-made dishes. We always have the 'Pie of the Day', just perfect in every respect, but always book in advance since they sell out very quickly.
Easy parking in the forecourt.

It was a lovely sunny day when we visited Nymans and we have a lovely time walking round the gardens and looking round the house. The gardens were really beautifully kept and the house was very interesting. We had sandwiches in the cafe which was very nice. There is a shop where you can buy unusual plants and various other garden ornaments etc. A very good day out we will come again.
