“Pretty garden”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

Borde Hill garden is well worth a visit. It is varied in its planting, with different themes through the garden. You can take a dog on a lead, which is nice. The garden is not huge, but there is a wood walk you can do, and some lovely views over the countryside. For those with children there is a separate play area which they do love. I definitely recommend Elvira's cafe for a bite to eat, serving up-market cafe food, unsurprisingly as Elvira is the wife of Jeremy of Jeremy's restaurant next door (which is also very good!). There is also a good art gallery in the car park for a bit of a browse. I've been visiting Borde Hill for years (I have a season ticket) and always enjoy a visit.

“Beautiful”

The gardens of Borde Hill are beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The children's play area is particularly good and we enjoyed taking the children fishing also. A good day out.

“Good!!”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

We visited near the end of August, so not a great deal in flower, as with many gardens it is very seasonal and earlier in the year there is a lot more colour. Have been working in gardens of several types most of my life, so can appreciate that at certain times of year there are going to be large parts of the garden with not much colour, overheard some visitors complaining that it was dull and nothing to see with any colour, but that is how gardens are. We enjoyed our visit, and having visited several years ago earlier in the year we know it can look very good.

I have seen comments on other reviews that it is expensive, maybe that is something could be looked at with a slightly lower price near the end of the season, but having said that staff and bills still have to be paid.

“Sunday stroll”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

First visit to the gardens, usually go to NT places. Very pleasant especially the Italian garden. Thought that it was larger than what it was, but nevertheless ok. Used tesco vouchers so didn't pay much but seemed expensive for what it was.

“A garden for everyone to enjoy”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

Enjoyed a first visit to Borde Hill this week and was truly impressed. Summer is always a lovely time to see gardens but I feel this garden will be lovely in all seasons. Particularly liked the Italian Garden, White garden and Round Dell. Borde Hill House is an impressive Tudor home with the vast South Lawn leading down to the lake beyond. Enjoyed the sculpture Exhibition in the grounds with numerous pieces by David Watkinson called 'Unseen Forces'. Café is lovely with good selection of refreshments and a great outside patio area. Looking forward to a return visit soon
