We visited Wakehurst Place on way back from holiday as we were in the vicinity and have intended to visit for some time. First off the parking arrangements and the various permutations of different organisation membership are ridiculously convoluted and very poorly explained at the entrance leading to confusion and delay. The gardens themselves are a nice place to walk, when we visited the Iris Dell was stunning and other areas were well in bloom. However the signage could be much better and we wasted time trying to find our way around. Café facilities were OK but nothing special. We visited early afternoon but even so for the prices charged the sandwiches could be expected to be a bit fresher. There is a poor selection of drinks, especially wine, and only paper cups to drink out of. Again, for the money charged this is not really acceptable. The Millennium Seed Bank is very interesting and very visitor friendly. However, the entrance fee of nearly £13 is far too high for the quality of the attraction.
