We were looking at a camper van for sale on the south coast and wanted to stay in a friendly, cosy reasonably priced B&B on the south downs. We found Buckfold Cottage on Trip Advisor as given its gorgeous remote location and decent price decided it was the one for us. We booked last minute (about 2 hours before we arrived there) but the landlady Sylvia was very accomodating despite not expecting us. She emailed us a map and recommended a local gastro pub that served up a delicious meal for a good price and even offered to provide us with torches to walk there in the dark.
The house is beautiful with 360 degree views of the south downs. It is wonderfully remote so we had very peaceful sleep. The room was very clean and the amenities top notch - probably the best shower I've ever had! Breakfast in the morning was a beautiful spread - very plentiful - pastries, a range of cereals, delicious high quality coffee and a full english! All served with a smile - and the Sunday papers. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.
The landlady recommended good places for us to go for a short walk and local sights we should take in.
After we left it transpired I had left a locket that has huge personal value to me in the room we stayed in. Sylvia contacted me via email to check if I was missing anything then posted it recorded delivery back to me - going above and beyond!
