Very attractive old pub slightly out of the way and where you would take a foreign friend to show them how good an English pub can be.Richard is a slendid host, the food is very good, not cheap, but good value. Staff are lovely.
Recommended to anyone who likes good Engish food.

This pub has the most spectacular views from the garden across the South Downs. Unfortunately it is run down and in need of some refurbishment. The garden furniture is mis matched and not very comfortable and there were no umbrellas to provide shade. The toilets were dirty the smell was very unpleasant so if you are eating inside I would suggest sit on a table furthest away from the conveniences. We had lunch and it was all good, my only complaint would have been that the chabatta bread on the steak sandwich was toasted to death so I am assuming the bread was stale.

We went here on a Satuday night. The dinning room is large and including us there were six diners. The atmosphere was poor , the food average and the sevice terrible.
We felt unwanted in this pub and the lack of custom on a Satuday night indicates others have felt the same

Have been on several occasions. Warm and welcoming. Very good menu. You would never leave hungry as the servings are big! Small countryside pub that's well worth a visit. Highly recommended.

Visited for our wedding anniversary. Staff very welcoming, food excellent and great quality. The only downside was the lack of space when getting seated, but would definitely go back.
