“A lovely weekend away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 February 2013

We had a lovely stay at Penfolds. We booked out both doubles; both really nicely furnished and ultra-comfy beds with lots of nice little homely touches. Fab breakfast the next morning too, cooked to individual preference but everything came at the same time – very impressed!

Great food at the local pub and a 5 minute stroll to the river arun for walks. Also a short drive from Arundel, which has a great castle.

All in all a great place for a weekend away, many thanks!

Room Tip: Big double room has a separate shower, little double has a bath.

We stayed here for one night as we had a family wedding at the local church .
We stayed in the Barn the room was very small not very clean cobwebs and dust everywhere . We had a T.V. But no controller when we asked was given one that didn't work. The water was not very hot . Did feel slightly strange to hear owners daughter shouting 'where's my hairbrush' . The breakfast was very good . Saying all that we had family stay in the main house and they seemed very happy so suggest if you stay make sure it is in the main house.

I stay at many five star hotels across Europe in my work and I have to say that Penfolds beats them all. I am not generally a lover of B and Bs but the proprietors at Penfolds create such a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere without being intrusive, that I felt completely at home.
The attention to detail is amazing and the provision of tootbrushes and paste came in very handy as my wife and I had both forgotten our own.

The building has been beautifully and tastefully restored and is a wonderful place to be.

Suzy's breakfast was absolutely amazing with a selction of fruit that was unique. We also appreciated that, despite not coming to the table until well past the end of breakfast, Suzy provided my son and his girl friend with a delightful full english breakfast.

We stayed here on the evening of our friends Wedding in the village of Bury. The owners were very friendly, helping me to take bags to the different rooms my friends and I had booked into. We loved the comfy beds, the lovely big bath and kitkats to go with out tea and coffee. The breakfast was amazing with cereals, fruit, croissants and a cooked breakfast made to order how you like it. The owners were chatty and we felt like we could ask their advice on things to do in the area. We would definatly recommend staying here and we will do again for a romantic evening away.

My wife and I stayed 3 nights here and everything was perfect. Fantastic friendly hosts, lovely room in the main house, breakfast was out of this world with a tremendous choice. Nothing was too much trouble for us. They even have an outdoor swimming pool. Parking is very safe and well off the road. The 5 ft double bed was very comfortable. The location was very secluded and quiet. We were recommended to eat in the evening in the local pub. The food there while not cheap was excellent value for money. All in all we found our stay well worth the cost and certainly will go there again if we are in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for room No 1 in the main house or for something different try the shepherds hut. It is fully in...

We needed somewhere to stay for a wedding in a nearby village and found this B&B quite excellent. The owners are really charming and helpful, the accomodation is clean and comfortable, and the breakfast of a high quality. The shepherd's hut in the garden was particularly pleasant.
