“Excellent, First Class, Superb”
Reviewed 22 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

I have just got back from our short stay at the hut, we have already recommended the place to family and friends.

On booking you will recieve an email with directions, information and contact details of the owners (who are lovley as are their dogs). Upon arrival everything was as described and checking in was hassle free.

The hut itself has everything you could need and is set in some beautiful gardens. We chose this because it was dog friendly and it certainly lived up to the tag. With an enclosed garden the spaniel couldnt have been happier.

One thing we weren't expecting was the barn area, this is private and is accessed from the private enclosed garden. In the barn is a a fridge, hot plate and further seating. We also found it a useful place to put the dog in his cage when he needed to dry out. The barn is really an extension of the living space.

The pictures of the hut and other reviews are actually what you get and really is high end glamping.

Wouldnt mind going back, but plenty of other places to explore so will just recommend it to anyone who wants a unique experience.

First class!

Thanks

“A lovely, quirky place to stay for our weekend away.”
Reviewed 11 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This was our first stay in a shepherds hut and were really pleased with the decision to stay in Elderflower. It was well equipped, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and a great place for our weekend in West Sussex. We'll definitely stay there again.

“Homely and welcoming.”
Reviewed 24 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We have just spent the weekend in Elderflower. The hut is spotlessly clean, comfortable and everything necessary is provided including an iPad. The hut is tucked away from the owners house and overlooks their fields. Arundel Castle and several National Trust properties are within easy reach. Pullbrough Brooks (RSPB) is worth a visit too. We hope to return again one day.

This is an impeccably decorated/ maintained shepherds hut with deceptively more space inside than you would usually expect. Inside the Hut, you are provided with more than you would require for a weekend/ week holiday - ipad, toaster, microwave, DVD player! all very useful if you decided that you didnt want to go out and explore.
The area is dog friendly as the Hut is set within an enclosed, picket fenced area - she loved it! lots of interesting things to sniff at including the three sheep in the adjoining field!

Within the hut was a black folder with information on local farm shops, restaurants/ pubs (including menus!), instructions on how to use the BBQ (which we did despite the rain and high winds!) and walking routes close by. I don't think I should have been so surprised by the level of detail in this folder as immediately after booking, Sue, the owner, emailed very detailed instructions on where the Hut was located and how to locate it on their grounds when we got there. However, the instructions were invaluable and very helpful!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a retreat!

“Love little place.”
Reviewed 27 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Great little hut with lovely log fire, really cosy and loved watching the sheep out the window. Wifi not good, poor signal and not always working. Would have been ok if warned of this prior.
Would visit again for a quiet getaway!

Thanks so much for the review and feedback. We had electricians working during Miram's stay carrying out essential electrical improvements on the main house and as a result the house power was being turned on and off sporadically throughout the day. This turned the main router on and off in the house which explains the poor wifi service in the hut as it is fed from this. Apologies to the guest staying as I forgot to inform them they might loose wifi but I would like to stress that all electrical improvements are now complete.

“50th Birthday Surprise”
Reviewed 30 September 2015 for a stay in July 2015

After my partner said he has always wanted to visit Arundel Castle I decided that is what we would do for his 50th Birthday.
I went online and hunted for somewhere special to stay and after viewing numerous Shepherds Huts came upon 'Elderflower'
When we arrived I was not disappointed.
The owner showed us round to the hut, in it's own little private courtyard, away from her home and the rental cottage.
When left alone my partner said it was a wonderful place to find.

Inside is clean and well thought out with beautiful chic cushions, crockery and furniture.
The bed is comfortable and the area is quiet so we slept well.
The bathroom is a nice size, obviously not huge if that is what you are looking for, with plenty of hot water.
The shower is lovely.
There was tea bags, coffee etc on our arrival.
There is no TV which did not bother us one bit as we sat in the courtyard in the evening and watched the families sheep in the little field in front of the hut.

There is a microwave in the hut with a fridge and cooker in the adjacent barn, which also houses a small table and chairs.

I personally would have preferred a small fridge in the hut as I don't generally use a microwave but that is just so you don't have to go into the barn late night or early morning if you fancy a cup of tea.

We would definitely stay here again.
