Our family had a very comfortable experience in Casa Estrella and we appreciated the self contained kitchen; bed options (swinging, regular, hammock!) and rustic-chic bath/shower! The common area is lovely and great way to meet fellow travelers. Yelapa village is a short and fun walk down the donkey trail. Great snorkeling on the point; wonderful birding opportunities (saw the Military Macaw!) and helpful, friendly staff. Our ONLY wish that wasn't granted was for the sun to shine on this side of the bay to help dry out our perpetually damp clothing and towels (that is what you get in humid November!). The other side of the bay gets more direct sunlight this time of year. But the view from El Jardin is spectacular and affords views of the dolphins and manta rays jumping early in the morning! Looking forward to coming back and volunteering with the vet to help fundraise for more spay and neuters!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- El Jardin is an eco-friendly garden retreat with the ocean on one side and the jungle on the other. Beautiful gardens surround the open air sleeping palapas. The communal area is open anytime, where guests can mingle, relax, read, dine, lay in a hammock or play one of the many games provided. There are recycling guidelines on-site and the manager will introduce you to the communal spaces at the start of your visit. The common areas are great way to meet people and relax. We have a great local cook who is available for meals and often dinners will be arranged for guests. Our casas are a "labor of love". We have worked hard to get the casas to the state they are in and continue to work to make improvements to make them better and more comfortable for you. ... more less
