This adventure was action packed .. the staff was GREAT .. real entertainment on the way to snorkeling and kayaking to the Yelapa beach – to the hike to the waterfall and a SPECIAL treat on the way back. The hike to the water fall was really, a delightful walk – the waterfall was refreshing. We very much enjoyed every minute of the hour we got to spend on the beautiful blue beach … if we ever go back to Nuevo Vallarta, we most likely would do this adventure again!

We hiked up the hardest part of the mountain and got to check out the highest waterfall where there is a lagoon. Our guide's name was Ernie aka Gringo who was super nice and funny. My boyfriend and I took a water taxi to Yelapa which costs us about 20 dollars each. I loved Yelapa and will be returning.

The beach is average, the water is not that clear like at other beaches (because there is a river flowing in the bay). The waterfall is average, too, the water is not clear. It is really small, but you can swim a little bit and have a shower under the waterfall... The boattrip with the taxi boat is fun (45 minutes), you can see a lot of lonely beaches, really beautiful!

Amazing trip exploring Yelapa & Pizota, cruising the bay with our very knowledgeable guide Hugo, fabulous experience snorkelling, then horse riding through Yelapa (cash is needed for drinks & souvenirs if you want) once recovered from the horse riding it was a trek to Yelapa Waterfalls - amazing scenery & opportunity to dip in the waterfall & photo opportunities (cafe bar at site not included)
Please be aware that some did struggle with the steepness of the trek (which was not shared on booking) & heat, be prepared with sensible clothing, water etc & you will love the whole experience!!
Back on boat to visit Pizota, lush beach & waters, all inclusive bar, BBQ buffet, kayaking & the opportunity to swing in the hammocks (my daughter & brother fell fast asleep relaxing in hammocks!!) staff were attentive, efficient & made the afternoon blissful!!
Boat ride back was informative at first until the weather changed & we participated in what felt like some Need for Speed boating experience, the captain was amazing & professional & we returned safely rather windswept with an amazing adrenalin rush to what we all said we would have paid separately for the experience! Yet another fab day exploring Mexico, Perfecto!!!

Beautiful Yelapa waterfall is amazing.
We drove to Boca de Tomatlan where we got a water taxi for 140 pesos per person and left at 11:00 am to Yelapa. It is a small town where you walk around on small stone paths all the way up to the waterfall. It will take you around 20 minutes to get there. The sight seeing around is amazing. Half way up you can hear the water running down the stream. Take your swimming suit to take a splash in this magnificent waterfall. Breath real oxygen while you enjoy a drink at the restaurant at the top . It's a lot of walking so take you tennis shoes and maybe a mosquito repellent. Visit the church and if it's Sunday you can listen mass. Be ready to take a lot of pictures of the excellent views of the beach. The last water taxi leaves at 4:30 pm so be aware of the time or you will have to spend the night there.
You take the bus to return to Vallarta and it will drop you off at Olas Altas in downtown. The bus has an orange stripe. Enjoy the scenery on the way back, it's Great. The buses stop running at 11 pm.
Don't leave Vallarta without visiting Yelapa.
Ramon was our guide. Thank you Ramon and God Bless You!!!
