try this - rent a house in Yelapa, that includes kayaks. Get one in the hills. put the kayak in the water and paddle to Domingo's. Get a front row table on the beach so you can watch your kayak, as somebody borrowed ours, although it was truly a friendly borrow. order the fresh fish, and have a miami vice. sit sobremesa for some hours. paddle back in the rain to your house. go in your, go to sleep. or some variation on this. we really enjoyed domingo's, the guacamole portions are like avocados grow on trees here - oh wait they do!

“Disappointed This Time”
Reviewed 1 April 2013

When visiting Puerto Vallarta, we always look forward to spending a day at Yelapa relaxing and watching the world go by. We have spent the day at Domingo's the past several years and have always been happy with the service. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience this year. Our waiter, Abel, really didn't seem too interested in waiting on us. When we were able to get his attention, it took him a VERY long time to return with what we had asked for. He knew that we were leaving on the 3:30 water taxi so when we asked for our check early (we wanted to explore a bit before leaving), he didn't bring it until HE felt that it was time for us to have our check. I might have understood if there had been lots of people there, but that was not the case. We were disappointed with the service......enough to consider moving further down the beach next year.

“A Perfect Little Beach-Side Hangout!”
Reviewed 25 March 2013

A great find after exploring a little bit of Yelapa. Staff are more than friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated how they leave you alone until you request service. Food is basic but very good. Lounges are comfortable and the scene has a wakening energy as the ocean waves shake the shore. Great spot to spend a few hours on Yelapa's amazing beach.

“Mexican fare on a playa hermosa”
Reviewed 9 March 2013

Domingo's is one of several beachfront restaurants in the access-only-by-ocean town of Yelapa on Banderas Bay. We came into the bay via private speedboat and grabbed a local "panga" to get to shore (100 pesos for round trip transport to and from the beach).

The staff were friendly and attentive, as I am sure they are at the neighboring, virtually identical restaurants (!), but the 6 of us (and our 2 boat crew members) enjoyed the typical Mexican fare and margaritas, made with killer "raicilla" - a particularly strong type of tequila. The afternoon went by in a blur after drinking those!

The beachside town is cute and Domingo's delivers all you would want or expect in that setting. Enjoy!
