We arrived around midday but checkin wasn't until 3pm so we stopped for lunch and then headed for the Jenolan Caves. When I arrived back later with my wife and 2 exhausted children (2 & 5) after a big day and a lot of driving, our booking had been lost. The booking was made directly on their website, all credit card details supplied etc. The people in the restaurant who obviously handle 6pm style check-ins had no details of our booking but gave me a mobile phone number to ring (on my own phone) so I could speak to 'Kate' who would come down and sort us out.
Kate arrived 10 minutes later to 'rectify' the situation. Because the booking had been lost they had 'upgraded someone else into our room' and the only rooms left were uncleaned and did not accommodate children. Someone else's fault of course. No offer of any kind to fix the problem apart from "sorry, I can 'try' to help you find accommodation somewhere else". I went back out in the rain to the car to let my wife know what was happening and tell her about the vague offer of assistance. When I returned ... No sign of Kate and no answer on her phone.
Fair to say this would be my worst accommodation experience ever. More
