Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway

We spent our 5 year wedding anniversary in one of the possum hideaway cabins and we couldn't have picked a better place. We were welcomed by a happy friendly face at reception and supplied with a map of the grounds as well as the nearby lookouts and walking trails. Our cabin was delightful and equipped with everything we needed for our two night stay including the inclusive buffet breakfast, bath robes, fresh towels, spare pillows, blanket etc. The fireplace had already been prepared for us, all we had to do was light it. We were supplied with plenty of extra firewood and kindling. Unsure of what time we were to arrive, the oil heater had been turned on in our room to ensure it was nice and cosy when we arrived. This was a lovely personal touch by the staff. The bed was firm but comfortable, clean sheets, new sofa and freshly steam cleaned carpet. The bathroom was clean, spacious and the spa bath was great! The cabin has large windows all the way around so you get a 360 degree view of the surrounding bushland. We were lucky enough to have a mother and baby possum join us for our stay, taking shelter in the purpose made box outside our room and delighting us as we fed them fruit. Although there are 3 other cabins and other accommodation close by, we rarely saw many other people which helped to make it a quiet, tranquil getaway for us. We'll definitely be staying here again in the future and highly recommend it

We go out to the mountains frequently for short breaks to recharge and have up tillnow in quote fancy expensive resorts wich accomodate motel style rooms. Itsuited us fine while we were a couple , but now with a nine year old and usually another family accompanying us , it is not sufficient especially when the weather is bad and then you have to entertain two families in one room!!! We have stayed in many cabins too, but not like these!!! Clean, spacious, looks like the internet photos!! and very friendly helpful service. Not to mention the heated pool that is actually warm enough to dip into in the mountain cool air, but also the grounds that are ope to each cottage so you can sit and relax and let the childre play in eye sight. There is basket ball, tennis, small swing open grounds to play ball games and table tennis room indoors . ALL FOR FREE.
I have just learnt it has new management (explaining the neatness and cleanliness) as the previous owners were not so particular. It is hissen away for peace and quiet , yet close enough to shops and restaraunts if needed. (excellent fully contained kitchens provided). It was our first time and intend to return regularly with friends. We were very pleasantly surprised . Thank you Federation Gardens. Great value for money.

My partner recently took me away for the weekend. It was such a cold, windy weekend in the mountains, however this place was beautiful!! We even arrived later than expected. We phoned ahead to let the owners know, they told us the reception desk would be closed by the time we arrived. The lovely lady on the phone left the key for us and a map to get to our cabin. Very helpful.

The cabins were gorgeous and oh so cozy. It had a a beautiful fire place, kitchen equipped with everything needed and a comfy bed. Windows lined majoirty of the walls making for great views of the scenery. Price was reasonably cheap and we were delighted at the sight of the breakfast which had been left for us. As it was a really cold and windy night, we did not get to see any possums, but we don't blame them, it was freezing. Overall a beautiful place to stay what ever the weather.

Room Tip: The couple cabins are just beautiful and romantic.

I came here as part of a large group for a wedding which booked out the entire place. I can' speak highly enough of the place. It was clean and well maintained, for a start. The rooms were comfortable and had a lovely view of the gardens. Everything was well set out and equipped. It is close to beautiful lookouts and great restaurants. I highly recommend it.

Federation Gardens & Possums Hideaway hosted our 3 day wedding extravaganza, myself and my beautiful wife were accommodated in one of the wonderful possum houses with views over the valley, stunning wildlife and surrounds.

The staff could not have been more hospitable and personable making our weekend one to remember.

The hot spa, wood fire, and dreamy bed were so relaxing (we didn't want to go home). The well tended grounds with gardens coming into bloom, set the scene for our lovely spring wedding.

Our 30 guests who were put up in the federation lodges, could only heap praise upon how great their stay was and the delightful time they had around the BBQ, fire pit and heated pool with friends and family.

A fantastic time was had by all and a weekend to never be forgotten.

Thank you for our wonderful stay, and we will be back sooner rather than later.

My husband and I stayed in Possums for three nights in August 2012. We have stayed there many times and also in all other cottages at Federation Gardens over the past 20 years. We loved our three night stay in August. The wood heating was perfect and kept us warm and the quietness of the surroundings was great for a well earned rest.
We found the bed very comfortable and plenty in the basket for some nice breakfasts. The kitchen was well equipped for our stay and the office staff very welcoming.
