“Three sisters”
Reviewed 25 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

My sisters and I took a well earned break at Lavender Manor. It was luxurious to talk, eat and sleep in such comphy surroundings. We took advantage of the location to visit gardens in Mt Wilson, walk to lookouts, eat at the Yellow Cafe (quite an experience!!) take selfies at the three sisters and shop at Leura- then return to the well appointed house.

“Great Break for us Mums”
Reviewed 28 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Thank you Nicky for making our stay so wonderful. We took a short break as a group of friends and mums to get together without families and spend some time together. We absolutely loved our spa treatments and the ladies were wonderful. We shopped around Leura and Katoomba and had a fabulous dinner at the local Italian restaurant.

We would recommend this gorgeous place for a group of ladies to get together and relax, the home allows you to all stay together and sit around in your fluffy robes!

thank you. xo

“Wonderful”
Reviewed 17 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Lavender Manor is wonderful. This is my third visit each time with a group of ladies(around 9 or 10 ) The place is lovely everything you need. Thetreatment room and spa is just outside. It is a convient drive to Leura, Katomba, the Hydro and BlackHeath all of which we visited. Plus great walks at the end of Evans Look out Road.

“We had the best time and the home you have created is beautiful :-)”
Reviewed 1 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Lavender manor could not have been more perfect for my sisters hens weekend. There was plenty of room and everywhere was comfortable. The heaters were on when we arrived and the house was fully functional.Nicky does a wonderful job of making the house feel like a home and everything you could think you might need was there.
We would have happily stayed longer and I'm sure we will visit again.
I'll give a shout out to my massage therapist Kat , she was awesome and the massage made you feel pampered and relaxed.

“Perfect location for relaxation for some Mums”
Reviewed 31 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

It was drizzly when in Blackheath. On arrival, there were welcoming lamps & heaters on in the bedrooms, and the fire was on low in the living area. Then we saw the yummy inviting hamper big enough for 8 of us to share filled with local produce like Mountain Muesli and Sour Cherry and Vanilla Jam.
The kitchen was well stocked with cups, glasses, picnic basket, plates etc. and a large stove. Big dinner table and plenty of room in the living area for lazing about on the couches chatting. The robes and slippers were exactly what we needed for wandering to our on-site massage or walking out to the spa.
We had perfect weather for the rest of the weekend, cool enough for fabulous winter scarves etc and hot chocolate in the mountains but sunny!
The beds were comfy!! We were only there for a weekend visit, and yet still felt wonderfully relaxed by Sunday.
Word of advice - if you are heading out to dinner, book the restaurant!

Liked best: Perfectly suited to group of 8 mums who needed some downtime. Some could go shopping. Some could relax. Plenty of space but still together.
Liked least: There is no fan in the downstairs bathroom and the shower steam made the floor a danger zone!

“Very cosy, excellent location”
Reviewed 5 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Very comfortable house, even if some of the fittings were showing their age. The house was pleasantly cool, even on a very warm day. Excellent location - easy drive to Katoomba or Blackheath, and central to many of the nicer bush walking trails on that side of the mountains.

“Fantastic weekend away!”
Reviewed 18 March 2012 for a stay in March 2012

Our terrific experience with the Lavender Manor started well before we arrived for our weekend. Nicky, the manager, was wonderful and helpful. The booking process was very easy. It's not always easy organising group holidays (it was a girls weekend for six) and NIcky was very helpful with prices for various numbers of guests to help us make decisions, and she didn't seem to mind when I emailed her to ask various questions about the manor and the area. Her customer service skills are exceptional!

The gardens are lovely. The rooms are spacious and the property was extremely clean. It has an older style country kitchen including dishwasher. The decor is what you'd expect from a country manor, with lots of floral prints and older (but well maintained) wooden furniture. The ample couches (comfortably seating 8 adults spaciously) were soft and comfy and the dining table (also an 8 seater) was large and functional. The living area was very large. Bathrooms were again what you'd expect regarding country style. There was nothing fancy about them but they were spotless.

We weren't travelling with children but we are all mothers so we couldn't help notice all the kids stuff everywhere. In one cupboard in a bedroom was an abundance of kids toys and games, plus a number of mini couches for the kids. There was a small amount of toddler play equipment outside, near a large outdoor setting in the lush garden. There was also at least one highchair that we saw.

There is a day spa at the back of the manor and if you want, professional massage therapists or beauticians can come in and give you massages and facials etc. We didn't indulge so I can't comment on what they are like, but we peaked through the window at the spa and it looked very nice.

The location is good, in a relatively quiet street, even though there is a tourist attraction at the end of the street (the picturesque Evans Lookout). The town is not far away either (3 minute drive).

Blackheath is quaint but you won't need to spend a lot of time there. It's very close to drive to Katoomba and Leura. If you want to eat out in Blackheath, I suggest you book well in advance, particularly if you are going over a weekend. We had trouble with the restaurant we booked (Vulcans... they were not the friendliest people to deal with to say the least), and felt we needed to cancel the restaurant booking the day before due to a specific dietary requirement that couldn't be catered for. We then found we couldn't book anywhere else. It didn't bother us, we had a lovely evening dining in at the manor, but if you really want to eat out, organise it well in advance and don't change your mind (and I'd suggest giving Vulcans a massively wide berth unless you want to be hung up on like I was, but that's a whole other story!).

Oh, I can't forget the open fire. Everything you needed was there from twigs to kindling to fresh cut logs. It really created a beautiful ambience for us and we even toasted a few marshmallows!

The Lavender Manor was a lovely experience for us from start to end, and NIcky is most of the reason why. She manages and maintains the property well, and is so lovely and easy to deal with. We've never met her but we felt like we should have invited her to join us by the end!! It's a big, beautiful and cosy country house and a great venue for a girls weekend, family holiday or even a holiday with a couple of families together. I'd highly recommend it as a holiday rental.

Hi Kim
Thanks for your lovely review - wonderfully detailed for future guests to use, and such lovely compliments about little me ! We fixed your creaky bed straight after your stay - thanks for telling us about that. We hope you'll stay again soon and treat yourselves to some massages this time - they really are heavenly even if I do say so myself. Posting some photos of a beautiful new store in Blackheath on our Facebook Page tonight so make sure you check it out. Maybe we can tempt you to stay at Lavender Majestic next time so we can pamper you even more....take care x
