Stayed here in March 2012 and also 2 years before that. Great place for kids or group of friends. On top of the road coming out of Jenolan Caves, makes it a great place to explore all the caves or do some canyoning/bush walking in the massive Kanangra-Boyd national park.

Accommodation is in great surroundings with views over the forest. Kangaroos, possums and loads of birdlife. I also like their "flush free" toilets which don't smell! Fireplace is better then TV!

If you're not going to the caves you can avoid that scary :) road going down and use the road to Oberon then Duckmaloi Road.

Room Tip: There's only one shared BBQ which is sort of in the middle so don't choose a cottage on the...

We stayed here for 3 nights. The cabins were nice & cozy. The location is great. Great place to explore Jenolan caves and we also got some very good tips from the host about the local area and best caves to see. There was abundant wildlife as well to keep the kids interested. Also this place is very near to the caves, so you can come back in afternoon & rest and go back again to caves.

This place is far from any supermarket, so you should have all your essential stuff before you come here

We decided to explore the Jenolan Caves over the Bank Holiday long weekend and settled on the Jenolan Cabins as our base. Very pleasant surprise - the cabins are neat and tidy, and have all the amenities you need. We cooked in the kitchen and also in the common BBQ area. The wood heater kept the cabin warm and cosy.
The cabins are also located in a great spot - fantastic views from the cabins and the BBQ area. And only 5-10 min drives from the Jenolan Caves. We also headed into Oberon one afternoon for a beer and that was only 15-20 mins away as well.
One minor gripe - no 3G Optus mobile phone access from the cabins, although 2G access worked. Probably a good thing to get a break from the internet and email though!
The trip was so enjoyable that we are planning to return in the near future. Thanks for a great stay.

We have been staying here for over 10 years each October. We have increased from just us (a couple) to two adults and three kids and we still have plenty of space. Love the location - very quiet but close enough to go down to the caves for a morning tour and then come back for lunch (Caves House is expensive). Then we can go back for a bush walk or head over to Kanagra Walls for a walk/mountain bike ride.

Clean and well equipped with kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms and large dining table for craft and lego when it is raining. Marshmellows toasted on the log fire in the evenings with comfortable couches. The fire is already lit when you arrive for those who aren't gifted with firelighters!

Barry and Robyn (and Michael) have all the local knowledge to help pick walks or cave tours and are very helpful with bookings.

This was booked by friends but was a real get away from it all place. The place had good facilities to cook your own meal and the Wallabies out the back were a real treat. A little bit off the beaten track but really handy for the caves which are brilliant. You need to book early as you cannot leave after 11am once the coaches start coming in.

Stayed here for just 1 night (2 would have been better) as a base to visit the caves. There are 6 cabins in total, but the night we were there had the place to ourselves which was great!

Our cabin was spacious for 4 people. 2 bedrooms- 1xdouble, 1x with 2 double bunks...linen hire available.

'Eco" toilet in bathroom discouraged lengthy sittings!

Good sized fridge in kitchen (you need to bring in all your food as it is a long drive to the nearest supermarket!).

Tiny TV in the lounge with DVD player.

No outdoor furniture provided for individual cabins, just 2 sets at the BBQ area. Large BBQ, but I'd imagine it would get very busy when all cabins occupied. We had the luxury of sitting there for our dinner watching the sunlight go over the mountains. (terrific view). we were also visited by crimson rosellas (very bold) & some wallabies (a little shy).

  • Liked — Bush location
  • Disliked — More oudoor furniture would be nice!

We were travelling in New South wales in September 05 and stayed at a place called Jenolan Cabins at Porcupine Hill just South of Jenolan .
we had booked them over the net so wernt sure what we were in for but to our surprise and relief they were as good as their advertising.
Perched high on hill with a view over the valley .the road down to Jenolan was a bit twisty but made it for the first tour of the day with no worries , went home for lunch and came back for an afternoon adventure.
being on the southern road did not have to fight with all the traffic going home.
Close to Kangara Walls as well.
The cabins were roomy and clean and the local wildlife came to visit as well. All in all a great little place to base yourself and surprisingly not all that expensive
Recommend it
