As part of a group of 6 , we stayed at the historic Caves House. However, we stayed in the Mountain Lodge section and it very good. Each of the rooms had a king sized bed and a well set up kitchenette. Although the rooms were oldish, they were clean and comfortable. Each had it's own ensuite.
It is separate to the 1890s Caves House but was ideal for our one night stay. The main building had an old world charm but shared bathrooms.
We visited the bar and had dinner which were excellent and very reasonably priced- considering they had a captive audience. Drinks were likewise reasonably priced. The main restaurant was elegant and also reasonably priced.
A most enjoyable stay in a very pretty area about 3 hours west of Sydney. To drive there was reasonable but the last 40 ks were windy and narrow.
Checkout before 1145am to avoid taking a much longer trip back to Sydney as the short way is closed from 1145 to 1300.
