Nice easy walk, only one hour return, bit of history along the way and a pleasant way to spend some time.

An opportunity to experience one of the old original roads up the escarpment. Look for the beginning (or end) of it at the bottom of Victoria Pass, and walk or cycle up to the top where it emerges on the road out to the lookout past the petrol station. It can be part of a great cycle ride around Mt Victoria, Bells Line of Road, Hartley Vale, then back up to Mt Vic! Or its a nice well graded walk up along the side of the escarpment with wonderful views of the Hartley Valley farmland.

Thank Mlzy

I took my two (11 & 13yo) boys on this walk - and we had a great time stopping and looking at all the points of interest. If you have children that are "difficult to please", this is a very engaging walk.

It will only take you about 90 minutes to walk to the bottom and back up to the top - but if you are constantly stopping and checking out different features/sights (like I did) it will take more time, say 120-150 minutes. It is not very steep or bumpy or rough, suitable for all ages.

The car park runs off Mt. York Road - on the right. The entry point to some walks is well signed in the car park...BUT the walk entry point to THIS walk is ACROSS THE ROAD from the car park.

You start this walk from the top, walk down the track and then back up again - round trip about 90minutes.

There are many historical features & other points of interest have been signposted along the walk, including parts of the stonework, ie viaduct and drainage culverts that form the construction of this (former) road, a water trough cut out of sandstone to water the horses that once travelled the road, signs carved into the rock face showing shire boundaries, views across the Hartley Valley, and in Spring/Summer there are plenty of wildfowers.

Bring your camera - you will get some really interesting pictures. Here are mine http://www.flickr.com/photos/minerocksmore/sets/72157628673668047/
