“An oasis of calm and wonderful food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2013 via mobile

What an incredible find this place is. Lovely old stone building, asian inspired setting (both indoor and out), charming hosts but it is very much about the food. The dumplings are absolutely sublime and you can taste the love and care that has gone into them. Well worth a detour through Rylstone if you are in the area - the saffron shop down the street is pretty amazing too.

“Definately worth a visit”

Wonderful atmosphere, friendly service and the best dumplings we have ever tasted. Have visited 4 times and always consistently very good. The restaurant displays lovely artwork and the various teas available for purchase are delicious.

“A great surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

A group of us had yum-cha for Sunday brunch. You wouldn't expect a quiet, country town in New South Wales to have such excellent Chinese food, but this was really good. We got a perfect morning, to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine while sharing in the food and teas.
If you like yum-cha - dumplings, buns and the like - then 29 Nine 99 is the place to visit.

“Brilliant food and setting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 October 2013

Na-Lan from Xian, China has created this amazing little shop with interesting clothes, teas and accessories. She also makes super-fresh, legendary dumplings to either takeaway or eat in the lovely historic courtyard. A unique and delicious experience.

“Great Yum Cha”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 September 2013

Read about this little place and thought we would try it. We were travelling to Mudgee and took the detour to Rylstone. The food was terrific as was the atmosphere. Choice of fork or chop sticks to eat with is ok but I would prefer just chopsticks to encourage their use. It's part of the experience. (Yes I can use chopsticks but that is not the point). Took away some custard steamed buns for later.
