We recently stayed at the Golfer's Inn and found it to be an excellent Hotel and very friendly staff and an excellent price for the calibre of the accommodation. It was not what we were expecting to find in Tenterfield.
We arrived late (ish) after 7pm and the room was ready for us on arrival with the heater and lights on for us on arrival.
Free fresh coffee/cappuccino's available whenever you like which are self serve.
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment (Southern Unit) which was very spacious, very modern, well appointed and was a very pleasant surprise. The room had a good size fridge with a full kitchen enough to prepare meals. We cooked both dinner and breakfast for a family of five and everything worked well. Timber parquetry floor over concrete was a very nice touch as was the heated towel rack and modern bathroom complete with full glass vanity and very large shower rose. Queen size bed in the main bedroom which is complete with it's own small flat screen TV, air conditioner and down lights and main room light controlled from the head board of the bed. Second bedroom was two single beds with controllable down lights. Lounge suite was very comfy after a long day in the car and lounge room was fitted with a large 50" ish flat screen TV, the main air conditioner did a good job of keeping the unit warm inside while it was 2 deg C outside. The fifth bed was a single bed located against the wall in the lounge room but was in no way in the way or interfered with the room layout. We had neighbours that had a small baby next door. We could hear the baby while outside in the undercover car park but could not hear anything through the brick walls inside the unit.
Originally we had booked for one night on the way from the Sunshine Coast to Denman in NSW as a stop over. We were so happy with the room that we rebooked the same room on our return trip even though we had originally planned on stopping at Glen Innes.
As a rule I do not usually write reviews for accommodation places even though I do travel around all over Australia, this will actually be my first review ever but in this instance I was so impressed with the accommodation that I thought it was worth writing a review.
To sum it up it is not the Marriot but it's not far off as far as comforts and at what seems like half the price of other similar accommodations would highly recommend.
