“A perfect Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 May 2014

This fine-dining restaurant in Wentworth has a mellowness and grace that reflects its heritage. We thoroughly enjoyed our relaxed Sunday lunch there, sitting by a big sunny window overlooking beautiful views of the Grose Valley.

We ate a-la-carte, and I had the red braised pork cheek terrine with Korean kimchi, followed by Duck Confit with pickled beetroot. They focus on locally-sourced, premium quality ingredients, and the small but carefully-chosen wine list is excellent.

The service was friendly and attentive, but not intrusive, and the desserts were a crowning delight to a wonderful meal.

“Another fantastic meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

My husband and I had dinner at Nineteen23 last Sat. This is our third time to this restaurant and after 2 degustation meals which were great and such good value for money we tried the a la carte menu and again we had another fantastic meal. For main course my husband had the Blue Eyed Cod and I had the Duck which were perfectly cooked and presented as were the entrées and desserts. Service is always impeccable This restaurant is a Blue Mountains gem and we cant wait to go back again. For city folk it is not too far to drive for lunch when you can appreciate the beautiful views of the escarpment whilst enjoying a superb meal. Highly recommended.

“Degustation menu too small”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2014 via mobile

The restaurant and service are lovely. Since we were new to the restaurant we decided to try the degustation menu that is awesome however the doses are not enough. With each dish we craved for more but you had one of the 6 courses, it opened your appetite but did not fulfill you completely. The whole meal is expensive and is a shame that you don't leave with a sensation of a full stomach and comfy. We will want to return but we do recommend that the chef should consider server bigger doses.

“A creative, well-balanced dégustation menu in a charming setting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2014

My daughter and son-in-law took me here for a special treat, and it was indeed that. We were driving so decided against the accompanying wines, and took our BYO bottle of wine (only accepted on certain nights of the week). The setting is gracious and has real character.
The dégustation menu was very well-balanced. I was so impressed by the aroma and appearance of the first dish that I forgot to take a photo; the macadamia pastry of the tart was sublime in flavour and texture, and went perfectly with the eschalot cream and goat's curd. When the waiter learned of my dislike for raw fish, he said the chef would be very happy to cook the bonito for me and it was delightful. The fig with serrano ham, hazelnuts, aged balsamic and sweet riesling jelly was superb. I question the "terrine" description for the pork cheek; the texture seemed more like a brawn, but it was delicious. The portion size of roast lamb and smoked eggplant was perfect as a "main" within the menu, and the dark chocolate pavé, topped with pistachios and served with juniper and milk icecream provided a perfect finale. Very good value for money, for a menu of this quality. The only negative was that we would have preferred to dine without the slightly disruptive presence of a two-year old child at another table; most restaurants of this kind have a time limit on service for small children at late hours.

“Lovely spot, amazing food and great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014 via mobile

Went here for a little lunch and were both blown away by the yummy food. Pork tarrine was great depth of flavours, the snapper was a crisp taste with a rich sauce, the duck and beet root was an outstanding combo and very tender. And the yogurt sorbet with basil and berries is a must. Totally rate it all.
