We stayed for three nights in these comfortable apartments with our children. The location is excellent and you can walk to Wentworth falls and the surrounding trails within minutes. Location is the strongest attraction.
The accommodation is organised into separate downstairs (one double bedroom, one bath room and long galley kitchen) and upstairs (studio with small galley kitchen and large bathroom) apartments, which are joined together for families.
We found it hard to contact anyone for help after hours - mobile phone number provided rang through when appliance wasn't working and message was not responded following morning. We had to chase up 24hours later. Not sure how things would be if a crisis.
Main issue is that the 'Retreat' sounds like a characterful idyll in the mountains - it actually feels more like a motel. All the apartments are built around a central courtyard/carpark where cars are parked, the accommodation is very generic and the place feels more like a mid-market chain than a 'Mountain Retreat'. Don't misunderstand - it's clean and comfortable, but don't expect character.More
