On an impulse, and suffering from jet lag, exhaustion and hay fever from polluted Sydney city air, I found THE FALLS mountain retreat . Wentworth Falls, is one of the only villages remaining relatively unspoiled by overdevelopment.

From the first phone call and email exchanges with Tanya, it was clear that I'd found a friendly, easy and welcome solution to a 5 night stay. I chose a loft , simply and beautifully designed, with no noise except that of the wind through the forest trees enhanced by the songs of birds and cicadas.

Upon arrival Tanya showed me a map, nearby bushwalks, some recommended places to shop and eat. For future family visits I viewed larger apartments and each reflected the same relaxing design excellence , thought process and total simplicity and cleanliness.

My loft featured 2 balconies, allowing mountain air flow, superb tree views, quiet colours without gaudy paintings in poor taste, beautifully appointed bathroom with a large window informing the soak in the tub with forest view, a sweet minimalist kitchen facility with microwave/convection, coffee making facilities, dishes, and a bar fridge; sofas, work desk and dining area. All thought of, in place without a sense of being crowded.

The location is excellent for both short,quiet or longer strenuous bushwalks, or a walk to the commercial area of the village.

Although I'd like to keep this wonderful haven a secret so that there's always availability for me to return, it's an honour to share this recommendation and to say thank you to Tanya and to the owners of The Falls.

We arrived at Mountain Falls at 6 30 in the evening after having a horrible experience with a rental property close by. We were made so welcome and although they did not have any rooms ready, they quickly organised a room to be prepared. All the staff were friendly, very helpful and gave us ideas on where to visit. The location is excellent for visiting the Blue Mountains. After a miserable start Falls Mountain Retreat came to the rescue, I'm so glad we spotted their advert in a local travel newspaper. A big thank you!

We stayed for 2 nights in The Falls to allow us easy access to some trekking in the Blue Mountains.
We had a fabulous stay! Christine was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable - providing us with maps, guide books and recommendations for our stay.
Our room, a loft suite, was spacious and beautifully kept. A huge comfortable bed, large lounge area and functional kitchenette were capped off with a roaring open fire and a bathroom with enormous spa bath! There was also a great little balcony at the front which seemed to capture sunshine all day long!
Location was ideal, 5 minute walk to a lookout, and the start of the National Pass walk. The team at The Falls couldn't have been more helpful especially when, with very little notice, we arranged to have a late check-out on our last morning to allow us to do an early morning trek.
We would have loved to stay longer and will definitely choose The Falls on our next trip to the Blue Mountains!
