This was a meal that I had been looking forward to since I heard the ladies from Ashcrofts had opened a new restaurant, and boy oh boy did they come the party!
Beautiful pizza with new twists on old classics (Maple Baked Pineapple and Smokey Ham with Crackling! - you read that right, Crackling on Pizza = AWESOME) and Soft Shell Crab, done in a Mother Batter (think Mother Dough, as in a Sourdough Mother) were delectable treats.
My partner, who has eaten Soft Shell crab all over the world pronounced it the best he'd ever eaten! I don't like crab generally because I always find them too seafoody but this was delicious and made me rethink my non-crab policy!
They don't take bookings, so you do have to take your chances on getting a table but even if they are full when you get there, it is definitely worth the wait.
I can't wait to go back!
