We stayed at The Tree House for 2 nights & used it as a base from which to explore Bruny Island. Loved the kitchen (especially the coffee machine!), comfy bed & couches and also the fire which we used on a particularly chilly January night! Nice walk down to the pub for yummy oysters & beer, and a welcome warm shower after a chilly adventure on the yellow boats the next day too. We really appreciated all the small details that had been thought of - well-equipped kitchen, washing machine, outdoor seating, etc.
Also a tip for those not from Tassie - we took our recyclables with us and were able to drop them off for free at the waste transfer station in Margate on the way back to Hobart. Nice to save some things from landfill!

Located on a large bush block filled with native trees, natural rocks and a created garden, the Tree House attracts many native birds and macropods. The bush and ocean views can be enjoyed from everywhere in the house through extensive windows, one of the three outdoor verandas or outside in the garden itself in various seating areas. This was the main attraction for me.
The house has two sleeping spaces rather than bedrooms. Downstairs, the wall-less 'bedroom' flows seamlessly from the living area. Up a steep ladder is a second queen-sized sleeping area in a type of mezannine area with full sized glassed areas showcasing the ocean and bush views. There is a generous supply of linen, bedding and towels.
Downstairs, the house is in a cross shape. The wall-less 'bedroom' is at one end, the kitchen at the other, and in between the fireplace and dining room. At the other ends of the 'cross' is the lounge room and the entrance and bathroom.
The kitchen is generously supplied with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils as well as a four burner stove, medium sized refigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven. The cupboards stock handy items such as a teapot, coffee plunger and condiments.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, vanity and attractive ship-themed leadlight window.
The key is well located in a key lock. It gave immediate access to the house but I've experienced more 'user-friendly' key locks.
We stayed for five nights. I enjoyed staying here and would stay again.

My boyfriend and I were traveling through Tassie for a week and ended up in Bruny Island. We booked the Tree House for one night the same morning we were leaving for the ferry. We were so happy and impressed when we got there that we called the next day and booked another night which was not a problem. It was such a lovely, comfortable and welcoming space - we couldn't have hoped for more. The log fire was great, the furnishings and bedding were comfortable and there was everything we needed there, including a coffee machine which we used well! Our trip to the Tree House also inspired a visit to Bonorong Wildlife reserve as there was a book on Bonorong in the collection there - another unplanned but very worthwhile addition to our holiday. We were very happy with the Tree House!

We only stayed for 2 nights but they were special, relaxing nights.
Everything is provided & the open layout just adds to the relaxed nature of the place.
