“Peaceful, quiet and relaxing stay”
Reviewed 2 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed at the Adventure Bay Retreat Lodge in May 2016. Having driven down from Lake St Clair we were very tired when we arrived but upon seeing this beautiful cottage our energy levels quickly rose.

It is a simple yet beautiful cottage with no other buildings within a four hundred meters vicinity. The natural beauty that you are surrounded with include the flora and fauna as well as wildlife such as wallabies and birds.

The cottage comes with a wood fireplace, which you have to put in some effort yourself, a kitchen, television and dvd player (with Bose sound system and movies included), a spa jacuzzi and a king sized bed. The owners even included 2 bicycles for you to explore the area. There is also a bbq pit if you feel like having one.

Although Adventure Bay is about an hours drive from the Bruny Island Ferry Terminal we stayed there partly because it was close to the Bruny Island Cruise. It is a 15 mins walk to the office.

Overall we had a great time here. The owner Jan communicated with me regularly before my trip to advise me on the details.

“Lovely”

What a great spot to stay on Bruny Island. The house is spacious and comfortable, with a gorgeous open fire to warm you on the the coldest day, fully equipped kitchen,(with lots of extras) and beautifully comfortable beds. Native wildlife at your door, and a short walk to the small centre of Adventure Bay, it's a great spot to just relax and enjoy the pristine environment of southern Taasmania.

“Beautiful location”
Reviewed 13 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Great house - love the stone fireplace. And you need it as it is cold on Bruny Island. It would have been good to have entered into a warm house rather than a cold house that takes a good while to warm up. Good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. 2 good sized bathrooms. Interesting that there is a bath and no shower (although there is a hand held shower) in the ensuite considering the reliance on tank water. Pantry is well stocked with all the basics. Adventure Bay is lovely and the house is well situated to take advantage of the water views with very friendly wallabies roaming around. Look out for the albino one.

“Outstanding accommodation!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

What a wonderful holiday! My friends and I stayed here and it was just fantastic. Luxurious beds, modern and spacious bathrooms, gorgeous wood fire and super comfy and enormous couch. A highlight was watching the wallabies at dusk hop around the grounds while we enjoyed the warmth of being inside! I couldn't recommend more highly and I will definitely be back!

“Magnificent retreat for a great weekend”
Reviewed 4 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Recently stayed with a group of friends and had just the best time. The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen perfect for cooking in, the living areas were cosy and warm for lazing about and chatting. Could ask for a nicer place to stay. Can't wait for the next trip to Brunny.

“Fantastic winter retreat.”
Reviewed 21 July 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We spent a long weekend here and it was brilliant. Wonderful deck area with BBQ that overlooks bush and grassland teaming with wallabies. Fire place was great as we were there in winter, it's such a secluded spot but only a short walk to adventure bay. I'd highly recommend a stay at Adventure Bay Retreat.

Our extended family of 6 stayed here in May 2013, including two very small children. From the initial contact with Jan the manager our experience was extraordinary. The house could not be more perfectly situated In a beautiful valley at Adventure Bay, surrounded by the tallest gums & numerous white wallabies. Adventure bay is the pick of locations on Bruny itself, wonderful blue waters, white sands, shops, walks and the fantastic must do speed boat trip. We found plenty to do on Bruny Island over the week. The house is luxury all over, the best of everything especially bed linens & towels - wow. Loved the nespresso as well! The kids weren't wanting for entertainment with a cute tv/toy laden loft & the massive swing and slide outside. We were blessed with great weather , but the nights by the fire place were divine. We would love to come back every year.
