Most reviews here seem to be about evening dining at the apparently very good Bayviews Restaurant, but our review is about a casual "fish/chip" lunch at the downstairs Fish Frenzy. We visited on a cold day when inside was full, but outside virtually empty. Rather than being welcomed on entering, we were given a menu and quite aggressively told that we should go back out until we had decided what we wanted to order, then come back in and order. While we understand the desire to stop people cluttering up the service areas in an already full indoor space, a request to go back out into the cold wind could certainly have been delivered with greater politeness and empathy. So, our visit did not get off to a good start and this was not helped by the table we chose outside being pretty grubby both on the table top and underneath. The only saving grace for Fish Frenzy was the food. It was excellent. So full marks to the kitchen staff, but customer service retraining of at least some of the front of house staff will hopefully avoid further reviews like this that detract from what seems to be a generally well regarded diner.
