“great convenient place to stay”
Reviewed 7 February 2014

Graeme and Lynda are great hosts. Lynda does a great Breakfast. We stayed 2 nights, and did some great walks in Freycinet Park(which is beautiful by the way) If you do the 4 1/2 hour circuit - do it the way the rangers recommend. Take ;ots of water and food. We had been disappointed in Tassie birdlife till we stayed here - they have fairy wrens that come down for the remains of the scrambled eggs. Fill your cars tank before you go here. Fuel was $2.00 a litre at coles bay - another tassie tourist rip off! it was about $1.56 at bicheno. Food is expensive at Coles Bay as well. We eat two nights at Bicheno Great food - not too expensive. We would stay here again.

from the moment we contacted Lynda we knew we were in safe hands. along with her clear and swift responses, she also provided alot of handy information about the area, and the drive up from Hobart. We have just returned from a 6 day tour of southern Tassie with my in-laws who were visiting from the UK and Coles Bay/Freycinet was the last stop in our trip - and they were absolutely wrapped with Pelican Bay B&B as a comfortable place to stay set in a stunning location. We were warmly greeted by Graeme and Lynda on arrival, and they could not have been better hosts. They gave us advice on what to see and do on the Freycinet Peninsula, as well as driving times back to Hobart and up to Bicheno. The setting and gardens, perched on the edge of Pelican Bay, and beautiful, the house is immaculately clean, and the bedrooms and beds very comfortable. Lynda's home cooked breakfasts were delicious, and they sent us off on our way the next day stocked with water and snacks for our big walk to Wineglass Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would recommend Pelican Bay to anyone visiting the area. We will definitely be back to stay again

When I contacted Pelican Bay to book our stay, I immediately had a feeling we would enjoy our stay there. Lynda sent a couple of emails, not only to confirm the booking but also to advise on the best SIM card to put in our phone for Tassie! When we arrived we were greeted warmly by Graeme and then we met Lynda who was also very pleasant. The setting is beautiful, the garden very well tended and you can walk through it to the waters edge. Our room was excellent, we used the lounge in the evenings, where there were books and magazines to read and our breakfasts were very tasty. Graeme and Lynda could not have been better hosts. They gave us advice on what to see and do on the Freycinet Peninsula and when we left to go to Launceston, they suggested the route to take and what to see on the way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend Pelican Bay to anyone visiting the area.

Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts in a "traditional" B&B. Very good breakfast, facilities to prepare a sandwich or picnic for lunch. Comfortable living room and bedroom. Peaceful location with an attractive garden and seats to watch the waterbirds and sunset over the estuary.
5 to 10 minutes drive to Coles Bay and the National Park

An amazing B & B. Lynda and Graeme are wonderful hosts and their property is delightfully situated on the waterfront and yes there are pelicans in the bay! Breakfast is fantastic and in addition Lynda ensures that you have snacks, water etc for walking and sightseeing. Their lovely home becomes yours during your stay and there is lots to read, TV etc and the place is kept very warm on cooler days with even electric blankets on the comfortable bed.
It ranks among the highest in the best B&Bs we've ever stayed in.

This is definitely on our list of places that we hope to get back to again. Fantastic hosts, friendly atmosphere, lovely hot breakfasts, beautiful garden, through the back gate to the bay, an enchanting view and another relaxing 'sitting out spot', with some of Tassie's best attractions and scenery close-by. Whether you are looking for a peaceful place to unwind, or a base from which to explore, Pelican Bay B&B gets "highly recommended" from us!!

Lynda and Graeme were fantastic hosts and really go out of their way to give you the best stay in Coles Bay. The room was comfortable and a great respite after a long day walking the nearby Wineglass Bay circuit. Lynda cooks a delicious hot breakfast and make sure you ask for the bircher muesli which was fantastic! We will definitely be back and recommend to anyone wanting to stay close by to Freycinet as the place is only a 5-10 min drive from the town centre and NP.
