“Great outlook across the bay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2013

We booked and stayed at Edge of the Bay for 3 nights, really enjoyed the privacy and outlook across Coles Bay, Freycinet. Our ocean view suite had close access to the private beach and foreshore was comfortable and had all amenities, able to park close by. Exceptional courtesy on arrival and throughout our stay by manager Niels, never a problem with queries and advice. We were celebrating our special wedding anniversary and really enjoyed the restaurant and meals, high class and well presented.
We have our own Birchwood Devonport self contained accommodation business and know what it takes to maintain and run a tourist business, had a great experience staying at the Edge of Bay and would stay again.

Room Tip: Ocean view suites are close to water, not sure about cabins

We have visited this area many times but decided to return here for our wedding anniversary with our kids, having been married and honeymooned here 10 yrs previously. Sad to say that overall standards have dropped, for the money there is now much better options available in the area and in Bichino. We stayed in the cottages which were basic and poor value for money, we were charged for a kids DVD we thought was borrowed? The food in the Resturant was only ok definitely not worth what was charged and a limited choice of dishes- unfortunate given the rich variety of local produce available!
For so many reasons we really wanted to love Edge of the Bay, but regrettably we'd recommend you look elsewhere.

We stayed in one of the Cottages, which were a little bit dated but clean and spacious. There was just the 2 of us but the cottages can sleep 5. The view is amazing (looking out at the hazards) and they even have tennis, bikes and canoes available free of charge. The food at the restaurant was nice but the servings weren't huge. We would recommend.

This resort is amazing! My husband and I are staying here for a night and wish we can stay here forever. We have an ocean view room and it's definitely worth every penny. The view is priceless. We are completely mesmerised by the beauty and peace of this place. We spent an hour on the deck absorbing the peace and listening to the songs of birds. Just wonderful. The best place to go when we want to get away from the traffic and city life.
We went to the restaurant (part of the resort) for dinner and the food was fantastic. We urge you to go!!! For entree, we ordered scallops and fish cakes, for main My husband ordered the steak and I ordered the fish. YUM!!! No complaints!! Why go anywhere else?? The young German couple is really friendly and helpful. They are a real treasure for the resort and of course the chef too. All super stars! We will definitely go back and highly recommend this place to everybody!!

What a beautiful place to stay! As the restaurant was closed we had breakfast thrown in for free, which was a beautiful basket full of tasmanian produce, with juice, youghurt, muesli, jams and honey etc with the thickest sliced bread I've ever seen able to fit into a toaster, to go with the plunger coffee, we sat on the deck in the sun with the local wildlife an out stretched hand away, so tame! About 20 metres off the deck is a beautiful beach with a gorgeous view. The room was perfect, had floor heating and heatpump and a big comfy bed, lovely staff, will be back!

Room Tip: No cooking facilities in the queen suites, not that we wanted to cook anyway ;)

We chose this place based on prior reviews during our visit to Freycinet. Even though there was only 2 of us we chose a cottage as the restaurant was closed and we wanted to be able to cook. While prior reviews say the cottages are a little worn, our was homely with a completely fabulous view. A perfect location for exploring Freycinet. These cottages would be ideal for families.

I can't speak more highly of this place. Great (huge) room, well equipped, perfectly clean..... AWESOME view, friendly staff.

Great to sit on the deck, which is really on the edge of the bay! Beautiful view to wake up to. Very highly recommended.
