It's official!! This joint sets the new standard as was the worst meal of all time!!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF IS THE LAST PLACE OPEN IN HUONVILLE...KEEP DRIVING!!!!!!!

The wait for the meal was to be half an hour - ok - well we will have some garlic bread while we wait - mmm - well coated in cheese and and served on a doily. Then fifty minutes later a meal appears - well lets just say food on a plate - T bone grisly totally undercooked and inedible - and on the second meal not able to cook frozen chips and somehow turned flathead fillets into to fried nothing.

FORGET IT!!!

My family and I turned up between 7:45pm and 8:00pm after a long day out touring around. When my father asked if we may have a table for 5 he got the response of "not really" "if you order in the next two minutes" we got the distinct impression we were not welcome because we came late.
So we went across the road to The Manor where we were greeted with wonderful customer service and good food.

The four of us were visiting Huonville, and looking for a good meal at a good price. We thought we would try the Grand Hotel and we were pleasantly surprised. One of us had the braised sausages and veggies. Another one had a steak, and two crumbed schnitzel. Everything was delicious and very generous helpings. The cost was very reasonable. They would not normally be open on Anzac Day but they decided to see how it would go. It was disappointing for the managers as we had the smaller dining room to ourselves, this lovely hotel deserves more patronage. Lovely staff.

We stayed at the Huonville Grand Hotel for approx 5 non consecutive days.
Our 1st choice was the Little Devil Backpackers, but this is quite a distance from the centre of town and not the most suitable for older people.
We found the facilities very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly.. Bed linen and towels (somewhat worn) were supplied free of charge and were fresh and clean. Coffee, tea, sachets of biscuits, jam and tea , and soap are provided in the rooms. The rooms each have a wash basin.
A small kitchen is provided with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster and kettle so breakfast can be made.
At $30 per person per night it is very good value.
A dining room provides dinner. The tomato soup at $6 was excellent and a meal in itself.

Room Tip: Ask to view the rooms. The staff are only to willing to show you. The rooms on the main road at the...

Its not a luxurious B&B and it doesn’t have ensuite bathrooms but it suited us well when we stayed here for 2 nights as a stopover in Huonville in the huon valley recently.

The Hotel is situated right in the middle of town. There is a restaurant which operates 6 days a week – we had dinner there and the food was better than I was expecting. The pub itself is a little rough but hey it’s a small rural town not a trendy café in Sydney.

No breakfast but Banjos is 50 metres down the road.

Communal bathrooms but suited us for 2 nights.

Lovely view across the bridge and to the Huon River.
