“Mole Creek experience”

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel few weeks ago. We got the "honeymoon" suite. It felt like a place frozen in time, which was what we wanted, very different from our daily lives in hectic Sydney! The room was comfortable, just what you need after hours of bushwalking and cave exploring.

My daughter an I had an overnight stay at The Mole Creek Hotel. We were made to feel so welcome by Doug and all the staff, always friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, comfortable bed. Dinner in the restaurant was DELICIOUS, succulent steak, great options for kids, and yummy dessert. Open upstairs kitchen to help yourself to tea/coffee, and breakfast in the morning, was a great place to catch up with fellow travellers. Ideal spot to stay while exploring the caves, don't forget to check out Trowunna Wildlife Park to pat the baby Tassie devils and wombats, and sample the delights at Melita Honey Farm down the road in Chudleigh, well worth the visit. Would definitely stay here again when next in Tassie.

The dining area was busy, unfortunately there was only one staff for a while and she was left to take meal orders, pour drinks as well as make any coffee/tea orders. There was quite a queue. Staff member did a great job in the circumstances, didn't rush customers and was polite and friendly.

Meal was okay, had Sunday roast, lamb which was quite tender. Genuine roast potato...another one would have been. Small scoop each of mashed potato and pumpkin, corn, carrot and beans. Plenty of lamb for me, but the meal was on the small side and would leave a big eater hungry.

Lot of paintings of tassie tigers, frames are great.

Typical country pub, not renovated (which is great), friendly service, so so/ okay food.

We had a comfortable night at the Hotel prior to walking in the Walls of Jerusalem National Park. The counter meals were great, rooms spotless and self serve breakfast adequate. Doug looked after our spare gear whilst we were away walking and welcomed us back with a friendly smile and a clean shower.

A great night.....meeting the locals...enjoying dinner and the hospitality of the Ínnkeeper' Room was quaint and comfortable..well done. Absolutely beautiful surrounding countryside. Breakfast was ample and again great company shared with other guests over a cup on tea. Went on to enjoy the Marakoopa Caves. Hotel well located for stopover while exploring the countryside.
