“What a view!!”

My partner and I stayed here in January on our way out to the west coast. We couldn't believe how reasonable it was given the time of year, and how lovely the host, Gerard, was.
The rock n roll theme honestly sounded tacky when viewing the place online (we booked it for views and price initially), but it wasn't tacky at all. The curator of this collection genuinely loves music, and we were able to chill out upstairs to everything from Adele to Bon Jovi to John Farnham and Led Zeppelin. The rooms were well appointed with wonderful views, and the breakfast was great too.
The best thing for us was being able to bring our dog - inside - for the night and have him welcomed too by our host. It is difficult to travel with children and/or pets and this lovely place struck me as an excellent place to stay for families as well as us.
Booking out the whole place in July for a post-semester relaxation for ourselves and our teacher friends. Couldn't recommend the place more highly!

“the view, the ambience, the memorabilia, you cannot pass this . . . !”
Reviewed 12 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

we loved it here, a very "easy" place to stay, high above the town, the view just awesome especially from the "Bob Dylan Room". Warm, cosy, full of rock and roll, clean and tidy, you cannot pass this for a decent place to stay!

“Rock and Roll galore”

This is one of the most original and thus unusual B&B. Located on the hill and offering spectacular views of the picturesque seaside town of Penguin this accommodation is like a museum of R&R. Each bedroom is named after some famous singer.
We stayed at the J.Joplin
spacious room with those fantastic views of the ocean and the town. The upper level has two big bedrooms and a large common room with big flat screen tv and a large collection of musical DVDs and CDs. Downstairs is well equipped and well stocked kitchen as well as yet another common room full of R&R memorabilia. The whole thing is really full on.
The host Gerard was very friendly and attentive.
The tariff was $60 per head per night is quite reasonable.
OK, this is the place with s big Wow factor. However, not everything is quite right. The outdoor bbq definitely needs to be replaced, regrettably there is no fan in the upstairs toilet and the carpets are stained.
Apart from these blemishes this place is recommended. You will love the atmosphere. That is, if you are a R&R fan.

“Great holiday house with fabulous views”
Reviewed 10 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

Ideal house accommodation for couples and families. Located centrally in Penguin, this house met all expectations. Fabulous deck overlooking the ocean was a great place to sit and take it all in.... The house had a 'rock n roll' theme which made the experience out of the ordinary. Would not hesitate to recommend this property!
