We stayed here on New Year's eve and found the accommodation to be very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for our stay, being self-contained with a well-kitted kitchenette. One of the best things about our accommodation was finding out that by booking our historic site passes through Port Arthurs Villas, we were given a key to a side gate into the site (it is across the road from the site). Our first afternoon there, we were able to let ourselves into the site at around 6pm (it was daylight saving) and wander around exploring the grounds and the outside of the buildings. We felt like we had the entire place to ourselves, as most of the tour groups had left for the day, and the ghost tours hadn't commenced. I found the lady at Reception at PA Villas very polite and helpful. I would certainly recommend this accommodation to anyone and would stay here again. The views from the back of our room were nice, overlooking farmland. There were two white geese wandering around, rabbits, and native birdlife including blue wrens. We also made use of the laundry facilities. All in all, this was a really good place to stay.

Room Tip: We had the last room on the northern end, so we had a nice outlook over lawn and gardens.

The cabins are located in close proximity to the Port Arthur Historical Site and although the rooms are fairly basic they have everything you would need for a comfortable stay for a couple of days with a good kitchen with full size fridge etc. Even though it was fully booked the night we stayed it was very quite and we got a good nights sleep. The manager was very helpful, providing advice on accessing the historical site and areas to visit on the way to Hobart. Would recommend to friends when visiting Port Arthur.

Great location to Port Arthur site. Basic but very comfortable, home away from home. The heat pump wasnt working though, which is a shame as it was very cold, but we mangaged to heat up the unit nicely with the little heater that Wally provided. Very quiet and peaceful, beautiful gardens even though the weather outside didnt allow for us to go for a wander.

Heat pump had failed and was being replaced - Advised guest that it was taking 5 weeks and provided them with large fan heater, which would have been move than adequate!

On the positive side-the manager was helpful and the room had everything we needed. The negatives of the stay- the room smelt of last months roast, maybe a couple of windows open before we arrived would have helped. It is always off putting when you see a kitchen sink that is all stained with grime and has hair in the drain-some gloves and a bit of bleach will do the trick and don't forget to do the mugs as they are in need of a good clean to remove all the tea stain.

The villa was really comfortable - good kitchen, soft new towels in the bathroom, good heating and the kids loved chasing the rabbits around the property. It is a walk to Port Arthur historic site...in fact you can see the villas from the gardens at Port Arthur. The owner had gone to the effort of creating a couple of information packs which had details on where to eat in the area plus sample menus, supermarkets and places to see in addition to the historic site. Showers only, there was no bath in the villa we had.

My partner and I stayed at Port Arthur Villas for two nights in late March 2011. I had looked at other options but this was clearly the best value for the money. The owner and staff were both very helpful and eager to please. The accommodation was spacious and clean, with a full ktichen and a dining/seating area. The best part was that the establishment is an easy 5-minute walk from the Port Arthur monument; the staff will arrange your visit to Port Arthur and give you a key to the back gate of the monument for easy access. For a combination of great value and location, Port Arthur Villas cannot be beat.

We weren't expecting too much as we had left our booking to the last minute and the rate was excellent. We stayed for 2 nights and on arrival pleasantly surprised with very comfortable clean room surrounding a lovely garden area. Staff very helpful and friendly!
