“Great stay...but too short”
Reviewed 14 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We would agree with all the other reviews...and with those in the visitors book - that 1 night is just not long enough. Lovely house, great position and very comfortable for our family of 5. We arrived late (5.30pm), and after unpacking went straight to Port Arthur and got in a quick 90 minute look around. This saved a lot of time the next day...your ticket is for 2 consecutive days. We would highly recommend.

“Superb accommodation and location”
Reviewed 9 December 2016 for a stay in December 2016

Only two of us and so the facilities were generous for us. The owners have obviously got considerable experience, because EVERYTHING was as it should be. There were small inconspicuous notes in many places which were really helpful (What to do if..../local shopping, etc). The location is stupendous. We sat on the first floor balcony for breakfast with no noise and looking at a fantastic view over the water could not be bettered.

And there is so much to do, no matter whether you wanted to chill out or do something more active.

“Excellent base to explore Port Arthur”
Reviewed 25 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Burilda Waters was a perfect base to explore Port Arthur and the surrounds. Easy walking distance to the historic site, within a short drive of the other sites of interest and a beautiful setting to relax in. Richard was really thoughtful and provided everything we needed for our first holiday with our baby - a portacot, baby bath and high chair. I highly recommend Burilda Waters to anyone visiting the peninsula

“Perfect for family ”
Reviewed 6 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Lovely little place - spotlessly clean and had everything you need to be self-contained.
Beach opposite isvery calm and peaceful. Location is 5 min drive to Port Arthur historic site.
Fire was set up ready for us to light which was thoughtful, enough heating elsewhere to make sure we were toasty warm.
Only thing that could be an issue is the creaky floor - when you are downstairs you can hear every single step and creak from upstairs which actually didn't bother us as we all went to bed at the same time but I can see how that could have been a little unsettling, especially if you have just come back from the ghost tour which we had!
Beds nice and comfy would definitely recommend.

Dear Trina, Geoff and children,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a lovely comprehensive review. We are very pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay and the Ghost Tour at the Historic Site. You are the first guests to alert us to the creaky floor and we will see if anything can be done to rectify the issue.

Very friendly and helpful owner made the whole one night booking easy.
We could only stay for one night but this accommodation is well suited to a family for several days.
The kitchen, lounge, parking, and view are the stars.
It is well signed on the street.
Very near the historic sites.
Shopping and eating needs some planning though.
The owner was staying on site (attached accommodation) the night we were there.

Dear Peter,

Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review for us. Donna and I live on the mainland but I go to Burilda Waters a couple of times each year to check on the place and attend to maintenance issues and improvements. I therefore only occasionally get to meet our guests so it was a pleasure for me to meet you both. Many of our guests have commented that they wished they had stayed longer as the area has a lot to offer people that love the outdoors and great scenery.

Best regards,
Richard and Donna

“Great location”
Reviewed 10 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We stayed for two nights to explore the area. As this is a whole house we had plenty of room for the three of use. There's a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living room from where you have a nice view across the water.
