The family has been looking after this piece of the Midlands for 190 years. It was a privilege to be part of the history, if only for a short time. The history and buildings are intriguing, the gardens beautifully kept. This is history with comfort though - warm, cosy, yummy breakfast supplies, open fire . . . and a warm and enthusiastic welcome.

This property offers a really rare experience in Australia. You are staying on a property with long historical links to the midlands, with owners who are innovative and true stewards of the land. The cottage have so many little touches and details that are interesting not only for their heritage value but for their personal connection to the family that runs the place. I really enjoyed the materials about the property that were provided in the cottage, as well as the history books in the area. Adding the ambiance of the place, when we drove up there was a gaggle of geese (I think?) hanging out outside of one of the old barns. They sell cherries on site, and I think they are the only place in the midlands to grow them at the moment. If you are coming to the midlands and want to support a local family and get a unique experience in the process, I highly recommend this place.
