We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin which was clean and comfortable but it could do with an update. The location is great (a bit of a windy road up to the cabins) with a very short drive to the town centre and another short drive to a good fishing spot. Washing facilities are available in a spearate building which was very handy.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom cottage; it was clean, spacious and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen; however the double bed was very uncomfortable. The location had an amazing view of the bay and was a short distance to the main shopping centre. Staff were friendly and welcoming and it was a good place from which to explore the Bay of Fires.

This was the cheapest accommodation we had during a 6 week trip. However our 1 bedroom cabin had lots of space, was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to cook a full meal. We even had a deck to sit out with a glass of wine in the evening. It's in a very quiet position with good views over the bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay.

Stayed here only overnight in a self contained cabin.....bit daggy in decor but surprisingly spacious, confortable and room to move....kitchen had everything apart from a chopping board.......toiletries supplied and shower had plenty of hot water....lovely and quiet position down the back and away from the traffic.....wouldn't want to walk to into town though as the driveway is UP AND UP!!!!...looks more like a camping ground with cabins upon arrival.....there was even a little back patio with table/chairs to enjoy outside meals/drinks too......would have enjoyed staying a little longer..

Pluses: We stayed in a one BR cottage. It was nicely positioned up on the hill with a view to the sea. The host was pleasant and helpful. The cabins are not expensive. Basic toilettries are provided.
Things to improve? I didn't find the beds particularly comfortable.
Self contained? - probably not a good idea to have a bar fridge when the shops are a fair way off and there's a walk up the hill back to the cottages? I also struggled to cook St Helen's prize winning oysters in the toaster oven as there weren't adequately sized oven trays to fit on the shelf. Also, as I am vertically challenged and the oven is high up, I even managed to burn myself.

It is just a great place. I couldn't think of any negative point of this place (as commented by another user, maybe the fact that the toilet is downstairs while the bedroom is upstairs, not a problem for me but maybe for someone). Everything is clean and new and the location is great.

Queechy Cottages is a very clean, quiet and cosy stay in St.Helens.

We had a 2 bedroom cabin which was nicely equipped and very comfortable. Basic cooking/cleaning facilities, dining, lounge/tv area are provided. There was also a nice porch to hang out around the back.

Excellent location, perched on a hilltop overlooking the bay and only a few hundred metres walk across the bridge to the town centre. I liked how you could literally drive your car right up and park in front of the cabin's front door. Highly recommended and great value for a quiet country town escape, would loved to have stayed longer!
