The perfect B&B. Perfectly presented. Thank you Peter for being the perfect host. It only took a couple of minutes to make as feel completely comfortable and relaxed in your surroundings. We almost thought it was our own house. Excellent breakfast. House lovely and warm. Comfortable bed and nice clean and spacious shower. A perfect place to stay any time of year. Highly recommended. And wifi is available.

Room Tip: Both rooms are perfect.

This is truly a lovely B+B in St Marys. Everything, including host Peter, seems to be just perfect. Situated just a little outside St Marys (not much happening there) ideal spot for some rest and walks.

Thank you Peter for a very warm welcome at Addlestone House in St Mary's. You really open your home to visitors and make it a home from home for your guests. Your home is spotlessly clean, very well laid out with the best of linens and towels to make the stay very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and wholesome, awesome eggs - where did you learn to cook them so well? Addlestone House is much more than a B&B; your friendliness and warmth allows visitors to feel right at home. Your knowledge of the Tasmanian East Coast also means that you can offer great advice and recommendations for the onward journey of your guests. Thank you for everything and we look forward to a return trip on day.

Room Tip: All rooms are great - stay for yourself - you will agree.

What a gem!
Sparkling clean and with a generous and friendly host. Thank you Peter for a relaxing, warm and comfortable stay.
The photos you took of us will be an everlasting reminder of our visit with you; your tutorial on photography and depth of field was easy to grasp and such a generous gesture :)

St Mary's is an interesting small town with almost everything. The pub down the street serves enormous and satisfying meals and we sat among coal workers and bridge builders, who were surprisingly quiet as mice as they ate.
The Purple Possum and the Elephant fudge shop next door are a must see.

Peter is a font of knowledge about the area and is warm and friendly. His rooms are spick and span and most comfortable. His poached eggs are "just right"

THE place to stay in St Mary's.......

Room Tip: Both rooms are excellent

Our stay at Addlestone was a delight. Host Peter's personal and charming welcome ranks very highly amongst our 10 nights stay in Tasmania. His house is immaculately clean. We enjoyed large and luxurious bath towels (which not all B&Bs can boast!). His personal touches such as fresh flowers in the bedroom and in the dining area are charming. In addition, he left us chocolates in our bedroom. He photographs his guests when they leave which is a very nice touch. It was fascinating to talk to him about his family history too with which I am like-minded. He recommended excellent places to visit, namely the local hotel (excellent value) for supper, and also the Purple Possum cafe which is winning national awards. Yes this stay was really outstanding in beautiful Tasmania.

We chose to stay at Addlestone House on one of the seven nights of our Tasmanian tour because of the excellent reviews in TripAdvisor and Lonely Planet (in fact, all 7 nights were in best-rated accommodation). Our night at Addlestone, a cosy bungalow, was easily the best. In addition to being excellent value for money, innkeeper Peter Troode is everything the ideal host should be: friendly, welcoming, attentive and unobtrusive. Addlestone is clearly not short of business: yet Peter goes out of his way to make every guest feel welcome and wanted, and one leaves with the clear impression that one has made a friend. The rooms are well furnished, tea and coffee are available at any time (as is access to the internet) and the breakfast is excellent. Addlestone will definitely be on our itinerary on our next visit to Tassie.

Room Tip: Both rooms are similar, though one of them has a small 'sun room' attached, lovely for relax...
