“Hearty soup, friendly staff..”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I walked in without looking at any reviews. We both had the soup, mine being served in a cob and he had a huge plate with toast on the side. It was just what we wanted. Good, hearty and very tasty. The latte was really good also. The staff were very pleasant without being intrusive and we are already planning our return trip to spend more time in Stanley and no doubt at the Swingin' Anchor...keep doing what you are doing and don't change it...

“Friendly service, great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2014 via mobile

Hubby and I are staying at Stanley and saw the sign for scallop pies. We went in for breakie which was really good. I had poached eggs and he had bacon and scrambled eggs. New owner and staff were really friendly. We liked it so much we went back for that scallop pies for lunch the same day.

“Excellent food but the service was a bit slow”

The food was excellent - smoked salmon omelet and a big (very big) breakfast. It was cosy out of the rain but the wait for our meals was a bit too long.

“Worth visiting this little gem.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

While doing the historic walk in the beautiful village of Stanley, we came upon this lovely little eatery. On entering, we were greeted with a very warm welcome by the assistant. She worked enthusiastically while attending to everyones needs. I had the delicious pumpkin soup in cob loaf and my partner had the curried scallop pie. Both very enjoyable. I then topped the meal off with a very liberal serve of a Tasmanian made ice-cream. My choice of macadamia was amazing, possibly one of the best I've tasted. Absolutely delicious!!!! As we were leaving, we passed other satisfied guests devouring their favourite flavour before departing from this special part of Tasmania.

We had lunch here after walking up and down The Nut. Food was well priced and owners helpful and positive. Would return. Busy place.
