Unfortunately we only had one night stay in Stanley village motel, but what a great place it was! We were greeted by the friendly owner at reception, and our room was presented to a great standard. Lots of treats in the room, chocolates, great tea/coffee, TV/DVD player, movies, great wee table near the window to watch the sea, and hopefully spot a penguin or two! Warm, comfortable, clean, and generous sums it up. The on site restaurant was superb! Great food wine, and a warm fire to sit in front at the end of the evening. Good breakfast and service in the morning too!
Great hosts, great place, Highly recommend!

Wow! What can I say. I will not consider staying anywhere else while visiting Stanley after experiencing Stanley Village. Stanley on the Bay is easily the best restaurant in the Stanley area. An overall outstanding experience. Phillip and Debbie provide very friendly, easy going service and are more than accommodating to all needs. Quality establishment ran by quality people, it certainly shows! The perfect place to take friends, family and loved ones. You can not go wrong. Enjoy!

Room Tip: The retreat is the perfect place to take someone special!

Not a bad motel but quite expensive compared with others we stayed
In whilst in tassie.
Room small but with great views. Unfortunately we booked in and within minutes there was a power cut which took hours to rectify. Not the fault of the motel but after about an hour we still hadnt been updated about an eta about when the problem would be resolved and when I asked the staff member said she would check once she finished what she was doing. Apparently its quite common to loose power but with no heat or light we wanted to know if we needed to find somewhere else to stay as we were freezing cold and couldn't even make a drink.
The local pub and supermarket had closed so we had to go about 20 kms to eat.
When we got back the power was back on so off for about 3 to 4 hours in total .
Situation may have been improved by keeping us informed .

Very welcoming motel and the view from the room was fantastic, warm, comfortable and quite spacious within walking distance of everything which in Stanley isn't difficult. Sue, who runs the place is a really nice lady and nothing is too difficult for her...thanks Sue for the breakfast you provided before we left.

Room Tip: We found the upstairs room provided an excellent seascape outlook.

We stayed on night in an upstairs room. The view out into the bay was awesome and the room, although laid out as a typical motel type room, was clean, well appointed and a comfortable place to spend the night.

We paid a little extra for a spa suite, however after returning from dinner my wife decided she'd like a nice soak only to find out that there was a small sign near the spa controls stating that its power is cut off after 9pm!!! There was no clear explanation as to why, but we figured it was to prevent disturbing guests in other rooms by running the spa at some silly hour of the night.

If so, that's all well and good however we were not informed of this when making the booking or signing in, in addition to us being the only guests in that building for the night! If this was pointed out to us I would have asked them to override the cutoff so we could take advantage of an amenity we paid extra to have!

It didn't seem like a huge thing at the time so I didn't say anything when we checked out, however I really should have as in hindsight it really did detract from our stay.

Room Tip: Make sure if you book a suite with a spa that you'll be able to use it when you want to! All...

We stayed only one night, but was made to feel very welcome & special. The views from our room were stunning, unfortunately the restaurant was not open for dinner, but the advise as to where to eat was spot on. We are looking forward to returning and spending more time here.

We stayed two nights here and found the room clean, warm and the bed was extremely comfortable. We ate both nights in the restaurant and the choice and quality was superb. I will recommend this place to everyone I know and look forward to returning.

Room Tip: There are only 8 rooms so I would recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
