The owners and staff we found to be very friendly and helpful .Great food and wine in the restuarant and excellent breakfast with local home grown produce . Easy walk to all restaurants. Stanley has some great eateries. Unfortunately at the time we were there the Stanley Village Restaurant (the old Bond Store) was not open. Staff very friendly and accommodating. If we ever go back I would not stay anywhere else but here.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms more convenient to access

We stayed one night in an upstairs room with wonderful water views. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a basic motel format and although not particularly large it had plenty of space with all the features we needed. We were not able to get wifi in the room but made up for it by walking around Stanley, climbing The Nut to get magnificent views up and down the coast and into the hinterland, and visiting the local pub.

Room Tip: I suggest a beachfront room to get the most out of the location.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with an amazing level of service that we were unaccustomed to from a motel. We stayed only for one night as we were attending a wedding at the HIghfield historic site in Stanley. We arrived late and we were going to miss a bus that was organised by our friends for the wedding to take us up to the venue. The owner overheard me talking to another friend on the phone telling them that we were going to drive ourselves to the wedding as we still needed to get ready. She very kindly told us to take our time getting ready as her husband would drive us up there when we were ready. Other than that small gesture that made our day, the bed was very comfortable and the view from the motel is very good (it is right near the water). Breakfast was also very good. If we ever stay in Stanley again, I will try and book through the Village Motel. The motel isn't cheap but the service we received, the comfort of the bed and the location made it all worth the money.

Room Tip: Second level rooms have just a slightly better view over the bay.

We stayed at Stanley Village during a tour of NW Tas. It was a lovely experience. The property is in a million dollar location, right on the waterfront underneath the famous Stanley Nut. The owners are very friendly and professional and made sure we were well looked after. The rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious and clean. We ate in the adjoining restaurant and if was also excellent. A tip - avoid the fish and chip place directly across the road, the big crayfish on the roof lured us in but we were very disappointed. We should have eaten at the hotel restaurant again!

I stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time. My room was on the second floor and had a great view of the water. It had the best bathroom and bed of my entire trip.
The owners are friendly and run a nice restaurant connected to the B&B which is convenient and open later then most of the other places in town. You're within walking distance of Stanley's downtown and The Nut.
If you're a light sleeper you may want to bring a pair of ear plugs. Penguins will walk past this place at night (at least they did in December when I was there), and they can make some noise. I didn't mind, and enjoyed watching them walk past at night.

Room Tip: Go for the second floor as there is a walking path outside and people will stroll by your room on th...

Unfortunately we only had one night stay in Stanley village motel, but what a great place it was! We were greeted by the friendly owner at reception, and our room was presented to a great standard. Lots of treats in the room, chocolates, great tea/coffee, TV/DVD player, movies, great wee table near the window to watch the sea, and hopefully spot a penguin or two! Warm, comfortable, clean, and generous sums it up. The on site restaurant was superb! Great food wine, and a warm fire to sit in front at the end of the evening. Good breakfast and service in the morning too!
Great hosts, great place, Highly recommend!
