“A good 'feed' in a relaxed atmosphere”
Reviewed 9 January 2012

Highly recommend the Tasting Platter - quality Tasmanian fare. Partner had the lamb shanks - very generous serve beautifully cooked. Blue eye Trevalla also a generous portion served with 7 different garden fresh vegetables. Great, friendly service. Only 'complaint' is couldn't fit dessert in - will have to come back for the White Chocolate, Raspberry & Mango Pannacotra!!

“Simply Amazing Food”
Reviewed 4 January 2012

The chef here knows how to cook some amazing meals! I had the 8 hour slow cook beef cheeks and my partner had the eye fillet steak. Both dishes were simply amazing and we were so happy with our meal we spoke to the chef after to complement her. She was so nice that she even altered the meal to cater for my partners lactose free diet. Highly recommended.

“Hearty meal during a rain squall”
Reviewed 20 October 2011

The restaurant is in a great location in an historic town/port adjacent to a restored railway station which has been moved from a junction about 10kms away - any stations are rare in Tasmania - and on one of the Bays around the headland called The Nut. "It was a dark and stormy night...", the restaurant was warm and the host was very friendly and helpful. I chose the local fish, which was tasty, very fresh and in copious quantities - accompanied by fresh local vegetables in similar quantities and of similar quality - cooked simply. The food was not especially adventurous - just fresh, tasty and well-presented. The chowder was especially good. Well-selected wines by the glass and good coffee rounded it all out. And all of this was quite inexpensive for this Canberra lad. Overall excellent value. And I got very wet walking home in a storm but loved the experience!
