“Convenient and pleasant campervan site”
Reviewed 24 April 2013

We pre-booked three nights here, from the UK, many months before embarking on our Tasmania campervan trip. Stayed here for a few nights so we could do the Wilderness train journey and the Gordon river cruise. Although this is a busy site and a bit squeezed in, we had a great stay here. Lovely area. Good facilities and very helpful and friendly staff.

Walked into town all of the time, which was about 20 minutes away. Also walked to the railway station which was about 45 minutes. Good on-site fish & chip shop!

Our to nights were very relaxing and the friendly owners were great, any questions we asked of Annie and Max were answered with enthusiasm and knowledge. This is a small holiday park with well laid out gardens, they are also interactive for children. Well equipped self contained units. Thanks to Max for putting us onto the best kept location for a meal. cheers mate.
Although we did have trouble with Internet access.

Our cabin was spotlessly clean and vey adequate for our one night stay. It is a nice short stroll into the town from the property. The cafe, store and bottle shop close by were very convenient. This is an affordable option given the price of other alternatives in Strahan.

It's basic at best and to be honest our cabin had seen better days.
Accommodation in Strahan is pricey and we found the cabin at the holiday park for $110 per night. But you pay extra for kids ($20!) which is just absurd! The total cost per night was $130 for our family of 3.
The pros . . . .
It's very handy to town.
The is a store out the front
Self contained cooking facilities
It's quiet.

The cons . . . .
The cabins are tired (doors don't slide, cupboard doors hang limply)
The beds are awful. Very lumpy.
The hot water runs out after only 2 showers and some dish washing.

If you're in Strahan it might be better to pay the extra $30 and stay somewhere nicer or keep driving and stay out of town.
It's a shame because Strahan is beautiful.

If you're doing the West Coast on a budget then it's hard to find affordable accommodation in Strahan . We rented a budget family cabin on Wotif for $130. I think that's still pretty pricey for caravan park accommodation but the cabin suited our needs. The mattress on the double bed had seen better days so my husband slept in one of the bunks and the door to the toilet was off its hinges.
The park has a bottle shop & take away/ grocery right out the front which is handy. We had our bikes with us so the short trip into town was very pleasant along the shared walk way.

great if you like a bit of a walk into town, 15 minutes either via water or main road. Water is only 3 minutes walk, great beach, ideal for picnic lunch or dinner.

Bedrooms are a bit small, we had to leave our luggage n lounge. Kitchen and lounge are very generous. Very clean and well maintained. We had trouble with the internet here.

Room Tip: Our room was on the road but still was very quiet

Uppreciated the gravel site (very good with all that rain) and the shop and atm facilities but amenities although well located and good in size do need to be revamped. Location is good but a kilometer away from main streep with no transportation available in the city. Keep it in mind if you cannot walk much. All in all a good experience.
