On entering Strahan, there is not alot of choice to eat for a reasonable price. We chose this Hotel, as it seemed to have a few diners, and we saw that as a good sign. Basic meals on offer, prices a little over the top for the quality. The staff were friendly enough, the meals are of a good size in the Bar-selection was not a typical Bar Meal.

“Average ”
Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

Apart from the calamari ! Which was excellent - blue eye was overcooked - oven baking is not a good way to cook this fish clearly - prices are on the high side but not extortionate - generally not bad for such a remote place

As long as expectations are in line with that it's ok - staff are good though small town friendly :)

“As a group - terrible”

Staff unfriendly. Risotto way, way, way over salted. Deep fried Brie - nasty. Steak not cooked well & seafood pasta bland.

Not cheap, but nice decor, good food, interesting menu, and friendly service. Warm welcome and a warm dining room.

We had porterhouse and fillet steak , both very good. With a starter of damper and dips it cost 81AUD for two, which is fair value in Tassie.Wine list is good value. It does get very full so try to book at w/e and hols.
