The breakfast alone is worth visiting this place for. For such a small establishment, the breakfasts were exceedingly grandiose. A choice of breakfast cereals, coffee or tea and tinned fruit was on the menu like every other place we visited. But then, there was the fresh fruit salad, yogurt, home made muesli, a porridge with fruit bake, a cooked breakfast made to your order, croissants to make the French cry out for, and daily changing muffins. This is the only place where guests were made to feel welcome taking a doggy bag away with them. Truly outstanding breakfasts.

Oh! Of course there is the enthralling Freycinet peninsula to visit - a joy in itself1

We stayed 2 nights at Meredith House. It is clean, the room was good, and the proprietors were helpful. Breakfast was very good.
The location is a 5 minute walk to Swansea, which is a lovely town with good views, restaurants, and conveniences. Great location.
The major drawback is the bathrooms are tiny. They were added after the building was constructed, and the archetects did what they could to wedge bathrooms in. The shower is so small, don't drop the soap or you may not be able to pick it up. If you are very big, it will be a tight fit.
The hotel is very convenient to nearby wineries and good restaurants. It is a bit of a drive to the Freycinet National Park but not difficult during daylight hours.

I'd come back here myself, and I'd recommend people to stay here. The rooms are pleasant, the hosts chatty. It also has a laid back feel, quite like the town itself.

I was up here with a couple of friend over the Easter period. It was quiet, and the breakfast was lovely. My friend book us into the place as he had a good experience over 4 years ago. I don't think he was disappointed this time either.

The hot breakfast is cooked to order, a selection of croissants, and hot cross buns was served (baked daily), with a selection of bircher muesli and baked porridge. There was a selection of fresh juices and teas available, and coffee.

I was tossing up on giving it a very good rating. I am in the view that if a place was rated excellent, there is no room for improvement. Because, I couldn't have expected more from my lovely stay at the Meredith House and Mews, I have ended up giving them an excellent overall rating.

I have nothing to fault the experience except for the fact that the rooms are a little dated. Perhaps its part of the charm. Perhaps.

Noel and Neil are wonderful hosts and keep this beautiful building alive. We stayed in the main building so cannot comment on the added rooms but our front room upstairs was filled with 19th Century charm with all the mod cons you expect - ensuite bathroom, TV ectera. Complimentary port and sherry in the room a lovely touch.

Room Tip: As with many old buildings there is no lift of course there was plenty of help with bags but an over...

Loved the homemade breakfast, definitely the draw card...best spread at a b&b I've ever seen. Stayed in the mews and they are nice, clean, and love the port as an extra touch. Nothing glamorous but clean and tidy. I think the value for money is average but it hasn't stopped me from returning.

My mother and I spent a night at this beautiful old B & B, two adjoining bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other twin singles and a lovely bathroom. Very comfy beds, wonderful accommodating hosts who were very good with feeding my mother who has a number of food allergies. For breakfast our hosts, Neil and Noel (who are gorgeous) made a special fruit compote for Mum, as well as special bread. They were very attentive and very helpful. My breakfast was magnificent, yummy fresh juices, banana smoothie (scrumptious), bacon, egg, mushrooms (beautiful), hash brown, tomato .. everything you could ever want. Definitely should be on your 'to stay' list if you visit Swansea.

We stayed for two nights at Meredith House in March 2012 and found it to be excellent. Noel and Neal are first rate hosts, while their little dog, Lulu, keeps everybody in order in the dining room. The breakfasts, as reported elsewhere, are to die for. According to Neal, Noel gets up at 4am to bake fresh bread and croissants and prepare the famous porridge and Bircher muesli.
The accommodation itself is of a high standard. We were in the house itself, which is a mid-nineteenth century heritage property, but there is also a row of modern cottages located next to the house where my son stayed recently and gave his seal of approval. Our two rooms (bedroom and sitting room) in the house were tastefully furnished in period style and very well provided for in terms of comforts (including a decanter of port and real coffee with cafetiere). Importantly, Noel and Neal are a fount of knowledge about the surrounding area and provided us with excellent recommendations on where to go for dinner (Banc in particular was excellent). So we hope to return one day and spend more time in the beautiful Freycinet area.
